As mentioned in another thread, has anyone been having problems getting ABC or ABC2 in the last 2 weeks...

Both are corrupted in sound and MPEG corruption via my Foxtel box, i'm wondering if any other Canberrans are having this issue?

If so who should i try and contact?

Foxtel? Are they responsible for my ABC decoding?

It's every show on both these channels, and i'm getting a little bit sick of it.

Any ideas?

Sounds like your dish needs re-alignment possibly. ABC and ABC2 are generally on the Vertical channel and can have these problems, channel 182 is also a vert channel so check that and see if you have the same problem.

Another cause can be a kink or squashing of the cable, loose cable connection maybe somewhere. I would contact Foxtel and have a tech attend to locate the fault and fix. Generally with the kink the channels on the same transponder will be affected.

Thanks for the reply.... The Dish has been installed for over 14months in it's current positions, and only effects the ABC/ABC2. So i would find it hard to believe.

I will check all my connections and make sure about the kinks, as that sounds more likely on my end.

Although why would this only effect the ABC/ABC2 and not all channels?

But thanks for the reply, i will try as you said.

The Vertical channels Signal/CNR vary greatly with the Horizontal ones, this can be the ABC's 102,126,191-195, ACC on 182 and a few others. If you can have a look at the Signal Level, try for 60 or above at the outlet. CNR on Vert maybe 70 to 100. Horizontal around 110 to 140. From memory the Foxtel boxes dont offer much information in regards to Signal levels, unlick the Austar Box which does.

Trust me, the dish being out just a little can affect a few channels, as each Transponders CNR varies greatly.
