thejackal Posted April 27, 2007 Posted April 27, 2007 A quick reply requested (hopefully), as the mother in law has got the hump!!. She has bought a Panasonic DVD recorder with a SD tuner in it. I haven't time to search for anything relevant, so would like to tell her if she can/or can't record Austar on it, and how to go about it in the simplest method if possible. I haven't seen the unit, so my info is 2nd hand, but I like to (have to) keep her happy!!! I beleive it would be the latest available, as she bought it from Hardley's, and apparently got very little assistance AFTER the sale. Cheers.

What type of output cables does she have on the Fox STB? Go with the best one (Component, S-Video, Composite), and then just record from that input on the DVDR. You won't get the Foxtel EPG on the recorder of course, but it will work.

Some people expect miracles, especially when they are virtually from the 26" B&W Astor vintage!!! They thought as I have one (Pioneer analogue tuner recorder), that I'd know it all. I'll ask them to swap, and they'll get one already tuned in!! Cheers.
