Really not too happy with the options there Santa...........

I'd of liked to of voted............

"It's my right to accumulate as much wealth as I want, and pretty well, spend it as I want. However, I realise that while everyone has the right to live their life as they wish, they can only do so as long as it doesn't interfere with the rights of others. So in accordance with these beliefs to allow myself any my family to live in comfort I will work hard, and in doing so, I will accumulate as much wealth as I can, while living a sustainable lifestyle. This includes giving more back to the environment than I take, thus leaving my small portion of the world in better condition than when I found it, being mindful of those less fortunate than myself and using my skills and talents to enable them to lead a better life and hopefully, passing on to my children these beliefs."

I don't believe being wealthy is in itself a wrong thing, rich people can do much good and poor people can do much evil.

I've mentioned in other threads, in relation to Global Warming, that as far as I'm concerned, arguments about whether Global Warming is bad, really bad, really, really bad, or just a crock of hype are in fact totally irrelevant !!!!

We should be living a "sustainable" lifestyle, not because of the risk of Global Warming, but just because it's the smart thing to do. Hello...It takes close to a zillion years to make a litre of petrol from a dinosaur, and news-flash, we're fresh out of dinosaurs (No Santa, no JWH references at this point !!!) yet the tide rises and falls (twice-ish) every single day, and don't get me started on how many wind-farms you could build for a couple of billion dollars. And let's face it, in today economy, the government wouldn't even notice 3 - 4 billion dollars from the budget spent on wind-farms. Then, (basically) give the electricity away. It's free. No fancy accounting on opportunity-costs of the money spent, it's ours, it's spent, now give us the free electricity. While you're at it, spend another billion dollars and build dedicated wind-farm / desalination plants, free water. Everyone can wash their cars, water their McMansion lawns, shower for six minutes !!!!

(I'm tired...I'm rambling again aren't I  ??)
