suspectno9 Posted April 26, 2007 Posted April 26, 2007 I have just upgraded my HT set up, so I have 5 spare satellite speakers. So I thought what the heck they will be better than the speakers I currently have on my computer, however the catch is how to I connect them all up. I am using an onboard 7.1 soundard (realtek) and it appears unless you buy pc desined speakers (i.e z5500) which plug into a sub you need to buy a HT receiver? Am I incorrect in thinking that I will need something like the DSE 5.1 amp (very low end) to hook up wired speakers and a sub to my soundcard (via analogue)?

You need an amplifier of some kind - the audio level from the sound card is very low. Try 2nd hand before DSE. What will you do for the .1?
