led Posted April 25, 2007 Posted April 25, 2007 I'm planning on upgrading my CD player from the current cheap and cheesy Teac single disc player to something better (which would probably mean anything). I also have a NAD 502 CD player purchased from Singapore a number of years ago which when bought home had a skip/disc recognition error that I've never had repaired (a bad purchase on my part as the warranty required return to Singapore). Some discs play ok others not at all. Not sure if the NAD is worth taking in for repair. So, overall I'd like a reasonable quality player (multi or single disc) but less than $200 if that is possible. Any suggestions. Sorry for posting this in HT arena but I figured there are quite a few stereo music enthusiasts here too.
Guest JohnA Posted April 25, 2007 Posted April 25, 2007 a reasonable player but for under $200 well that just leaves your basic run of the mill stuff Sorry led, but for under $200 don't think you are going to get anything too much better to be honest.
yamapro Posted April 25, 2007 Posted April 25, 2007 If $200 is the absolute ceiling you may find the best value is to get a quote on repairing the NAD. Otherwise at that price point you will be looking at pretty rickety old players and possibly the luck of the draw that is ebay (I'm still waiting on a Marantz CD63SE that i bought from someone in Sydney back in 2001!)
RodN Posted April 25, 2007 Posted April 25, 2007 Yes $200 is not really in the 'reasonable quality player' range so ebay or the repair of your nad would be best bet.
