And then gets good news for all Australians.

Those lucky stars - they just don't quit

"Australia has recorded its lowest annual inflation rate for two years, figures released today have revealed.

In a surprise result, the Consumer Price Index (CPI) rose just 0.1 per cent in the March quarter, leaving the annual increase in the cost of living at 2.4 per cent.

That is the lowest outcome since the March quarter of 2005 and puts inflation back at the lower end of the Reserve Bank's targeted range.

Financial markets will see the figures as ruling out an increase in official interest rates when the central bank's board meets next week."

It's great to be lucky - and we can all share in it :D

Of course the more circumspect among us might say - " funny thing is - the harder I work the luckier I seem to get" :P

Today's headline:

If I've said it once, I've said it a hundred times:

Under Howard, Australia truly is ... A Banana Republic Monarchy!!! :P:P:P

Good one :P

But Banana Fudge? that's Melloesque :P

As for a hundred times - well that really does demonstrate persistance (an admirable characteristic) in the face of adversity - all the dire predictions that have yet to materialise - "you wait - you will see - it's going to turn bad and then we will be correct and happy - if less well off" :P:P

Yet to materialise? - I'm just tellin' it as it is!

The so-called headline inflation figure is a scam!

(And it was under Keating too, for that matter!)

Fudged Schmudged

Help me out here - are you saying that the number is not one that represents the trends in actual "unfudged" inflation figures? - It's an honest question - no spin involved or at least intended.

Is that even possible, I mean one needs a heart in order for it to be attacked.

Well until I had a heart attack I was accused of being heartless from time to time - but who cares what those dickheads say anyway
