Video Ezy Hire

Recommended Posts

Hi All,

Just a note to grumble about said guarantee from Video Ezy. Having just been tormented by such adds for the new movie Eragon for the last couple of days decided to pick it up for a view. They had run out, but denied running such guarantee on that movie due to shipment issues. Well, since there was about 50 borrowed slots on the wall for this movie I thought the excuse rather lame.

The offer is worthless. Dont really care about the $6 they charge for hire, but that I had not botheres to call and book earlier when i thought of it since I figured that they would sureky not run out of a movie with the guarantee offer. Should have listened to that little voice in my head.

I agree. Given that this a national company with the same add playing nationally, they should cough up. My local store only honours this deal if you have pre-booked the film by phone and it is not in stock - in which case they usually have a pick up time...

That does sound a bit dodgy...

The local Video eazy store has the movies that are guaranteed set up in a display it has an orange promotional background were it is located on the wall. But if they are just too slack to use their issued promational stuff it still doesnt matter eragon is a guarentee title and as such should be honoured.

Up here if you want it and it is not available you are given a voucher for a free rental of the guarantee title, and you have one month to use it...

The local Blockbuster I go to is $6 for a new release and Tuesdays is (max 6 new releases) $1 each.

WAs advised by the lacal store manager, and she said these people are not doing the right thing, so go to the video ezy web site and e-mail them about it, they are not following the correct procedures.

Yeah, I've seen the ad on TV yesterday or the day before. It was definitely Eragon.

Maybe worth while checking some recent recordings and go back to Video Ezy with some evidence! You never know, you may score a free copy!

Each promotion goes for 21 days, i beleive up to 2 titles per month.

Casino royal was the last one, and eragon is the latest promotion they do overlap, this is so there is allways a current guarantee movie, The same movie will also have a price guarantee if buying new..and as there is sooo many hire copies teh EX rental ones will only be about $15 each to purchase.

maybe the video ezy site needs an update..

Shipment problems? - not your problem - their risk running the ads.

If its advertised your entitled to it.

Blockbuster ran a thing in school holidays last year something along the lines of 'kids rent free' - any PG or G movie was a free rental.

I went in there, grabbed a movie for the kids, went up to the counter and gave it to the guy.. whom promptly expect the $3 or whatever. I said that their ad says kids movies are free, to which they repllied that you get the free one when you rent another movie. I told them their ad didnt say that (and pointed to the one in the store, which was on the window and in the isles), he grumbled said the computer couldnt do it that way, I shrugged at him (the 'not my problem' shrug) then he gave it to me for free.

I saw this type of deal advertised at video ezy too.. if it doesnt say on the fine print on ANY ad you see then youre good to go and they have to honour it. ie. if its on the telle, on the shop window etc - if it doesnt say it on the ad you see/hear then they have to honour it.

email video ezy, name the store and the person. You should expect a voucher in the mail.

Cheers,

Bitey
