des Posted April 22, 2007 Posted April 22, 2007 Anyone else noticed bigbrother been pixeling up majorly!? When they do flashy scenes? Dont know if it cause of the bitrate of the HD channel it looked really bad when they did the openning credits!
anthonysimilion Posted April 22, 2007 Posted April 22, 2007 The cause may be the low bitrate satellite uplink. This is also recompressed before broadcast, adding to the impact.

laurie Posted April 22, 2007 Posted April 22, 2007 Picture quality matches show quality = s.h.i.t. JMHO cheers laurie
mtv Posted April 22, 2007 Posted April 22, 2007 Have to agree with laurie. Even if it was technically perfect, the content would still be crap...
Cody Posted April 22, 2007 Posted April 22, 2007 dont recall any pixellation, but i did have lip sync issues for part of it.
FMB Posted April 23, 2007 Posted April 23, 2007 dont recall any pixellation, but i did have lip sync issues for part of it. Could just be that Gretel was miming to last years opening show or the year before that etc.
FMB Posted April 23, 2007 Posted April 23, 2007 I think Susannah will win. I thought she was the most intelligent, articualte and attractive of all the housemates shown. DISCLAIMER: I'm not a fan of BB. I usually watch the first show just to find out who's going in to the house and what BB has planned for the season. After that, I stop watching and only keep track of what happens via other media. For example, it was almost impossible to not hear about the turkey-slapping incident last year.

phase5 Posted April 23, 2007 Posted April 23, 2007 Aren't we over this kind of rubbish yet? Or is it a case of with new audience of 9 years coming up each year they can just keep going forever? I'd really love to see one of the other stations show a film version of "1984" with the tag "Meet The REAL Big Brother". I recently obtained a copy of the 1954 tele-version with Peter Cushing and it's quiet disturbing even after all this time. Haven't seen the 1984 version of "1984" for some time, but still remember the "room 101" sequence. I will admit to catching a few minutes last night when switching on for something else. (Yes, I know, people willassume I'm a closest watcher). How exactly does this group "reflect australian society". I saw the exact same bunch of annoying 20 somethings they have ever year, except one is a "churchie"?.
SSS_Hoon Posted April 24, 2007 Posted April 24, 2007 the up late on ch hd was good for us lastnight except the occasional sound drop out blocking(ch 10 is always like that for us though) although the text that was going accros the bottom of the screen was blurred i think that has more to do with out settings on the tv then the transmission though. Neon Kitten Posted April 24, 2007 Posted April 24, 2007 I'm just surprised that entertainment "journalists" in the mainstream media haven't yet drawn a direct comparison between Big Brother's "White Room" and the REAL Big Brother's own 24-hour-a-day sensory deprivation chamber, known as Guantanamo Bay... When David Hicks gets back he should apply to be a housemate. He'd *sail* through it
Doug1503559538 Posted April 24, 2007 Posted April 24, 2007 I've noticed "over-saturated primaries" on the transmission so will not be able to watch the show again.
Guest JimboTHX1138 Posted April 24, 2007 Posted April 24, 2007 I think the white room has a lot of comparisons to a certain movie included in my username. "THX1138"
Sgt Bargearse Posted April 24, 2007 Posted April 24, 2007 I've noticed "over-saturated primaries" on the transmission so will not be able to watch the show again. Aren't the contestants "over-saturated primates"?
Doug1503559538 Posted April 24, 2007 Posted April 24, 2007 I always loved the D-Gen. Do you remember the street interview by Tony Martin with the old bloke who kept on saying Baaaarge Arse ? Absolutely hilarious.
Eth Nick Posted April 24, 2007 Posted April 24, 2007 I always loved the D-Gen.Do you remember the street interview by Tony Martin with the old bloke who kept on saying Baaaarge Arse ? Absolutely hilarious. one of the many classic bits my favourite aussie comedy series. Just reminded me - my nephew's had my Late Show DVD for way too long!
Greebs Posted April 25, 2007 Posted April 25, 2007 Just reminded me - my nephew's had my Late Show DVD for way too long! Champagne comedy .

k00k1503559827 Posted April 27, 2007 Posted April 27, 2007 The sooner they get rid of crap like BB, Biggest Loser, Idol, Dancing with the Stars, Australias Got Talent, etc, etc, etc, the better. Most of my FTA TV watching, unless its sports, is now purely ABC, ABC2 or SBS.
dryfry Posted April 28, 2007 Posted April 28, 2007 Baaarge Arse? Is that some kind of trick question? The D generation revioced the old Aussie cop show Bluey and called it Bargearse which was about a flatulent detective.
