Sambo90
This game looks fantastic here in Adelaide. I would say it is up to or even better than the round 1 game this year. The past two weeks haven't been as good in my opinion. Anybody else think it looks better? or just the same as it has been all year?
Eth Nick
There's still a bit of macro blocking during fast pans, so I reckon nothing to different to round one. Magnificent quality though! Anyone got any stats (bit rate ect.) to compare?
MattWinter
It's very good - I wish they would put the scoreboard up a little bit, and drop the watermark down a little bit - making them level - and they should make the watermark lighter and a little more transparent. If they can do that, then maybe increase the bandwidth a little more to get rid of blocking it will be almost a perfect broadcast.
Sambo90
Yeah fix the watermark. I think it would be nice if they were to have their graphics as HD eventually, maybe not this year but one day, as it just looks that bit tacky with this pixelated scoreboard and stat boxes. angelus512
Did anybody notice that the crowd (when you get a far away shot of the ground) flickered a lot? In terms of like the TV couldn't make up its mind whether it was light or dark. On ym Pana PX model when the shot was long I could noticeably see the crowd flickering/phasing. Also I thought Channel 10's broadcast in general yesterday was pathetic. The amount of times the signal dropped or their audio synced out (yes i'm including the 3PM game in this too) was just absolutely irritating. Actually yeah, I think I did notice a bit of crowd flickering. Not sure if it existed in the round one telecast, since I was probably distracted by my first HD AFL game PQ. Audio didn't seem to drop out during the game for me, but it definitely did it a few times in the movie following the AFL; Hollow Man. Probably the worst its been on Channel Ten. angelus512
Well its good to hear I'm not the only one that noticed the crowd flickering. I think it was really prominent on the HD broadcasts for whatever reason. As for the Sound I forget if it was the 3PM game (i think it was) but did anybody hear an OBVIOUS drone line an engine or something set to LOW but constant drone in the background and it obviously went away soon as things cut to an ad break? Or that might have been ch7's friday. Either way broadcast of AFL games not up to snuff yet. Broadcast cut out like 3-4 times during one game i honestly forget which network. Sound sync issues on occasion. No game has been flawless from start to finish yet and its really not that hard to do...just up the damn bandwidth. Channel ten's day game yesterday had some issues with there DVN which resulted in flashes to black and purple.

angelus512
Well if they all respond the same and being a Collingwood supported I watched every second of the Channel 10 day game how come I never noticed the black/purple issue? I repeat I watched every moment of that game. What I DID however notice was the picture phased out (slide) across the screen a few times and then came back once they'd fixed whatever issue they had. But no black/purple thing.
McDigital
G'day, I had a look at yesterdays Collingwood v Port Adelaide match on Ten as well. In the final quarter I saw that the old signal from the ground to Ten went black for a moment, purple for a second then like a VCR, rectified itself by sliding the image across to the right until it was back to normal. It was a 2 second thing While incorprating two games into one post...I thought the most fascinating part of last nights game was the following http://img72.imageshack.us/img72/522/20070421220854ab6.jpg http://img72.imageshack.us/img72/1066/20070421220900so8.jpg Now THATS HD
Hydrology
The pic is simply terrible in fast motion tracking shots. Far too much macro blocking. Yes its better than SD but please Ten increase the bit rate! I proudly told the other half we were about to watch a game in HD, and then after a couple of minutes she said that blockiness was bugging the s**t out of her. Are you observational powers as good as your choice of AFL team Just kidding there definitely was purple flashes, this is classically what happens with the DVN is playing up. Yeah but it is nowhere near as blocky as 7's HD coverage. That is truly unwatchable!
angelus512
Anybody notice that Channel 7 seems to broadcast their SD Digital games onto their HD loop channel only halfway through the game for some BIZZARE reason? Seriously how monkey with a wrench operating a major TV network is that?
Protagonist
Will todays AFL match between bombers and pies be broadcast in HD, on 10? If so, what should I look for that sets it apart from SD?

BrotherEstapol
The watermark at the start of the broadcast(2pm) said that it was avaliable in HD, but all I can see on the Canberra SC10 HD channel is the same-old HD loop. Lazy pricks.
