SKG Posted April 21, 2007 Posted April 21, 2007 Hey all, I've moved house and when I connected my Panasonic TU-HDT105A and I still had the Wollongong stations (mainly the HD demo stations I want) and I've just bought a Samsung 40" F7 and a Topfield TF 7000 HT and plugged into the same socket and on the new stb I can't get them Is there a setting I need to change or what ? I've heard that the aerial needs to point to a new repeater soon, does this have anything to do with it ? With the Panasonic, I can still get the Wollongong stations. Steve
mtv Posted April 21, 2007 Posted April 21, 2007 Steve, More info needed. There are a number of possibilities. Firstly, where were you and where are you now? Does your current location have the correct antenna to receive the Gong stations? Which transmission site were you receiving them from? What's this 'new repeater' you mentioned and where is it located? The signals at your new location may be 'borderline' and the Panasonic already has them tuned and memorised, whereas the new Toppy may not be able to lock onto the 'weak' signals in search mode. Have you tried entering the channels manually? Answers to all the above questions will help, but without accurate signal measurements at your location, it can be extremely difficult to determine a cause.
SKG Posted April 21, 2007 Author Posted April 21, 2007 I am 5 minutes away from my old house (I am in Rouse Hill and was in Bella Vista before) The Panasonic is at the new location and still has them in memory, I have a RCA standard def box, and just scanned and it found Wollongong stations. Correct antenna Unsure on the transmission site Unsure on the new repeater, I was told by a mate of mine (installs aerials) I thought it might of been weak signal, does anyone know the settings for the HD demo stations (it's 50 and 80 on the Panasonic) Thanks Steve
sfgiants Posted May 7, 2007 Posted May 7, 2007 I may have a similar problem to your recpetion problem so here it is - just purchased the TF7000HT for connection to my projector. I already have a $70 cheapo STB and a HD card in my computer, both of which work perfectly off the same antenna. I cannot get the new TF7000HT to work channel 10 and 9 (and a patchy 7). I have taken the unit back to the shop where it works fine. If I put it into the same tv wall points as the cheapo units it still has this problem. However the other units work fine for all channels. So, it seems the signal is fine for the other units but not this TopField. When setting up, the signal strength is high (90 to 100) - but the Quality bar is zero for these couple of channels. Why is it working fine at the shop however has problems with these channels at home. The other channels all work perfectly with this TopField unit. I have checked the firmware and it is all up to date. I amusing good quality quad shield cables to the points and have a high quality Arial. I live in Townsville/Mount Louisa and am gaining signal from Yarrawonga and have the Arial pointed at the tower which I have a direct line of site to. I assume it is not my signal, arial, cables or points etc as the computer card and cheapo unit work great. Any ideas would be great. I have tried manual setting the channels and cannot find them – well they find Ten but then says no signal. thanks for any help. Cheers

It may be that one tuner is more sensitive than another. You may need a masthead amplfier or an amplified spltiter. AlanH
