GG has a package off the floor available for $1750 on sale. I am putting together a HTPC and speaker system. Any Yamaha owners please reply, if they are happy with their system. I listened to it at another store and it sounded good to me, but it is the first such system I will buy.

I don't own one, but with an original RRP of $2999 looks pretty good value. The AVR is now superceded, and is the 'HTR' version of the RX-V659 without zone 2 audio. 3 component inputs, but no HDMI as in the RX-V661, if that is important to you. IMO the speakers look great and being Yamaha will give an 'honest' quality sound very acceptable to most people.

HDMI is important to me, I guess. Content protection is beeing hacked and by the time blue ray become more affordable (to me), it will be common to rip. I am looking at a 8800 Nvidia card for the PC, it has DVI outputs. Is there such a thing as a DVI to component converter cable? The HTR 5960 upscales to HD.
