I've been living in ADL for only about a year so far and I'm unfamiliar with whether Adelaide has cable TV or not. I couldn't find it in non of the houses I lived in, none of the friends' houses I visited... nowhere. Is there even such thing in Adelaide as cable TV (for Foxtel digital)?

Foxtel seems to always automatically choose to use the satellite dish for Foxtel digital instead of using cable.

Yes we do.....depends on the infrastructure where you live...if in doubt ring Foxtel....they are always knocking on my door, maybe wait until they knock on yours?

Foxtel will use whatever system is available in your area.

If you have cable out the front and conduit into your property, they'll connect you to cable.

Anything else and you'll have satellite installed.

As mentioned, if you want to know what's available at your address, ask Foxtel.

Only a very limited amount of Adelaide is cabled for foxtel.

There were issues of competition with optus, fighting the local councils, and community groups about the ugliness of the cables, and eventually they just gave up installing cables with a very limited run in adelaide.

Telstra may have put their cables underground in more politically sensitive areas, but the majority of Foxtel Cable in Adelaide is above ground.

I think the majority of the NE suburbs is cabled up, and is all below ground...

Actually its a minority that is above ground in Adelaide.

There are some optus cables near regency park but they were never finished and dont do anything.
