skregs Posted April 20, 2007 Posted April 20, 2007 A little out of left field but does anyone know where you can get some decent Home Theatre seats/recliners etc? The places I've been to in Perth have overpriced garbage that is so uncomfortable
50mxe20 Posted April 20, 2007 Posted April 20, 2007 Where have you tried so far so we can eliminate the obvious?
skregs Posted April 20, 2007 Author Posted April 20, 2007 Where have you tried so far so we can eliminate the obvious? Harvey Norman Condor Barkers New Idea New Image Furniture Spot Myer Plus heaps of other smaller places Most look nice but are darn uncomfortable
50mxe20 Posted April 20, 2007 Posted April 20, 2007 I reckon I've sat in a few of them. I'm starting to lean toward a nice leather lounge or separate chairs - lay back style - Like LazyBoy.

pajames Posted April 28, 2007 Posted April 28, 2007 Don't know either if you have Super Amart over there, probably don't by the sounds of it. They do some pretty good HT recliners. You can get them in rows of three or four seats.
quijibo Posted April 29, 2007 Posted April 29, 2007 I think these guys are only in Victoria, but I got a 4 seater leather set from these guys. I think mine are the esteem. http://www.damro.com.au/hom_theaters.htm The seats are really comfortable, have a 10 year warranty and are great value. They gave good discounts for cash, and had cheap delivery and installation.

Scott For you Perth guys go and have a look at Dankz, they have a few good ones. I got this one from Dankz in Joondalup Couch It was about $4300 I think, but that is because it is macrosuede, you can get it a bit cheaper if you go for a cheaper material. All 4 seats recline by kicking the panels...it is very comfortable, we would have no hesitations in choosing it again
50mxe20 Posted April 30, 2007 Posted April 30, 2007 Does this one need space behind it for the recliners to work. We looked at a whole bunch of lounge suites on the weekend and most would recline with a minimum of space by sliding forward but almost all also required a bit of space at the back to fully recline. This is no good to us for the seating along the side of the room. Dankz is not a bad store.

The seats do shift forward as they recline but you still need a small distance behind them as the head comes down. We are so happy with it, awesome quality, well made, comfortable and the macrosuede is fantastic. Dog hair just brushes off, and it doesnt stain (i rubbed ink off it with a cloth). Expensive, but you get what you pay for, and if you spend a fair bit of time on it then its worth every penny
Trigg Posted April 30, 2007 Posted April 30, 2007 Hey Trigg,Did you ever sell yours? Yes (sorry haven't looked in this thread for a while). Relatives purchased in the end. This is the one that I purchased from Condor approx 2 and half years ago for $3k.
CustomHT Posted April 30, 2007 Posted April 30, 2007 I reckon I've sat in a few of them.I'm starting to lean toward a nice leather lounge or separate chairs - lay back style - Like LazyBoy. Yeah i tried a Jason 3 seater with 2 recliners on the ends and 2 single recliners today.. It was so much more comfortable than the home theater style seats i've tried.. Just gotta figure out how I'm gonna fit it all in the home theater room.. Unless ofcourse i find something else that can convince me to go back to home theater style

larry42 Posted July 18, 2008 Posted July 18, 2008 i am looking to upgrade my Tv seating so i thought i'd 'bring to life' this old thread... I am looking at getting a 3 seater lounge (2 seats that recline) , plus some (maybe 2-4) single chairs(that recline) where the lounge would face the tv, and the singles would go off to the sides our tv room is about 6m wide, and about 5 deep, and we sit about 3m from the tv at present i am going to visit some of the shops that stock lazboy recliners, but i was wondering what other perth places people here recommend ?

I went to a few shops and could not find anything I liked including Lazyboy or prices for a triple recliner was over $5K. Ended up importing Bello HT furniture and could not be more happy. Price was Au$ 3300 for three seater recliner (3 reclining seats using two of their wedges to curve the seating. One canput as many accross as one wants and they also sell individual recliners. Very, very comfortable. Take a look at their Web site http://www.bello.com/index.php?partition=c...amp;categ_id=50 You can find a dealer near you using this web site http://www.audioproducts.com.au/NearestDealer.aspx Cheers, Bryan
Chris McMahon Posted July 19, 2008 Posted July 19, 2008 I just purchased a 3 seat (3 electric reclining seats with electric footrests, 4 arm rests, 4 cup holders) black leather lounge / setting. $3600 delivered from Bay Leather Republic. It's called the "Prime Time Motion". Pretty good value for $1200/seat. They also sell a 4 seat 4 armrest version for $4600.
larry42 Posted July 23, 2008 Posted July 23, 2008 i noticed in another thread that brooksy mentioned he got his recliners from Impressions Furniture in Cannington, they were the "Orbison" Theatre Recliners. from the pics, they looked quite nice i also notice that 'roth newton' was mentioned-but they are only in the east coast, and seem to stock jason/lazboy
