tomohawk Posted April 20, 2007 Posted April 20, 2007 I would love to wall mount my Bravia V series, except the problem is I live in a rental, and the wall is painted brick, not plaster. Is there a way to safely wall mount the panel that will be relatively easy to make good when I move out? I would like to have a good plan for this prepared before I ask my landlord for permission to do it, as I believe this will give me a better chance of a "yes" answer.
fawlty99 Posted April 20, 2007 Posted April 20, 2007 Well you'll need brick wall anchors so the holes will be bigger than for attaching to plaster and stud however the principle is the same. Provided you have the same paint as originally used on the walls you could patch the holes & repaint them. If the bricks are smooth you wouldn't notice it too much. If they are rough however you'll see the smooth patch which will be obvious from side on. If I was the landlord I wouldn't allow it. Best alternative is to mount it on a stand or custom built bracket which is attached to a stand. In the HT forum someone has done just that. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v334/Tro...02172Medium.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v334/Tro...02165Medium.jpg
Doug1503559538 Posted April 20, 2007 Posted April 20, 2007 Just mount it to the wall. Bricks are pretty easy to patch when you leave.
tomohawk Posted April 20, 2007 Author Posted April 20, 2007 Thanks for the input. The bricks are fairly rough texture so I doubt I'll be able to do it. That's ok, I'll just get a nice cabinet to set it on instead.
