gavstar1 Posted April 19, 2007 Posted April 19, 2007 Hi. Can someone please advise whether there is any possibility that Southern Cross Ten (Canberra) will be able to show saturday night's Adelaide v Sydney AFL game in High Definition? I realise they have not broadcast HD AFL so far this season, due to limitations with HD transmitters for regional areas on the East coast (a problem they could have solved with better planning!). This game appears to be screening at the same time across different states - wouldn't this then enable SC 10 to screen it in HD? I figured as this game features the Sydney Swans and seems to be in HD all capital cities (including a regional area in SA) -we would finally get a HD AFL transmission in Canberra? It seems odd if SC Ten can transmit prime-time HD shows at identical times into Canberra / Sydney / Melbourne / Brisbane markets but suddenly not be able to do it in Canberra for prime-time AFL. SC Ten was able to broadcast the golf in HD so it would be a major let down if we only get the crappy SD broadcast. Even if its only at 1440 x 1080i - to finally get some form of HD sport at a decent viewing time would make many viewers in so called 'regional' areas very happy!
DansDans Posted April 20, 2007 Posted April 20, 2007 Don't hold your breath Brisbane Ten/SC10 will get the North Melbourne VS Brisbane game so no HD for SC10 Canberra again.. I assume they would have advertised it like they did in Capital City markets if it was in HD, but the ad for this weekends game mentioned nothing... Surely there is a way for us in Canberra to get Sydney Ch 10? What kind of aerial do we need?
