balki Posted April 18, 2007 Share Posted April 18, 2007 I was watching a show on Discovery Science, and wanted to rewind something that I'd missed (I have instant rewind activated for 30mins - yes, it increases wear/tear on the HDD, but if anything goes wrong, it will be replaced)... Instead of the usual rewind, a message popped up saying instant rewind was not available due to 'insufficient disk space'. I can only assume that this is because OnDemand is filling the HDD with BS that I don't watch. Up to now, I was willing to tolerate this "feature" - mainly because it had no direct impact on my usage of the iQ (yes, it takes up 60GB of the space, but they never allowed this to be used for user recordings anyway, and yes, the capacity being used by the OD channels could be used to improve PQ, or add new channel(s).... but I digress). I'm not 100% certain that it is OD that has caused this problem - but I never had this issue come up before. Yes, my HDD is quite full, but it's set to auto manage, and besides, should it not reserve sufficient space for instant rewind? Not happy. (Jan.) But remember, this 2% is reporting user space available. I thought that the instant rewind was stored in the other 60GB (now obviously taken up by OD)?
