Fs: Teac Dv-b800 Hd Stb - Sydney

Recommended Posts

Hi,

Have an 18mth old Teac DV-B800 HD STB for sale, details below:

Official Link: http://stb.teac.com.au/products/d800.html

AGE: Just under 18mths

CONDITION: Absolutely mint, still has the plastic wrap coating that Teac puts on - I never removed this, has always been kept in ventilated HiFi cabinet - and comes from a smoke, child and pet free home.

PICTURE: http://img374.imageshack.us/img374/289/dscf0935po0.jpg

COMMENTS: This was actually the 3rd HD STB I had - previously having an LG and HomeCast - this was by far the best. Is updated to the latest official firmware.

I am only selling it as I've now switched over to a dedicated HTPC solution - as I watch so many downloaded avi's. However, the picture quality through the Teac is far superior to that I get through the HD tuner card - a lot better.

Personally I really don't like Teac's products but in their STB's they really have some solid products.

JB HiFi still sell these for $200+ and they just work bloody well - search this website and you will find 100's of users.

Even if you only have a SD display, most people find a HD capable decoder gives a superior picture - plus future proof.

WARRANTY: I will even go as far as giving a weeks warranty on this item - to ensure the person that gets it KNOWS its 100% functional and exactly as described.

Included are the remote (which is mint too + batteries) and the original instructions. Pickup is from Parramatta, Sydney though I am happy to mail Australia wide - just need your postcode to cost this.

PRICE: $100 firm - I have tracked a few of these on ebay and they sold for near $200 new - if you can tell the difference feel free to pay the extra.

PM me if interested....cheers, Nikko

Haha I have to say I am amazed people are gagging at the bit to pay $300+ for a wintal and I've not sold this yet - like I said the only weakness this thing has is it doesn't have HDMI - but DVI has exactly the same picture quality just doesn't have the audio signal as well.

Anyway .....if I don't sell this within the next day I will be putting it on Ebay as I know I'll get $150 for it on there.

Cheers, Nikko

Hey Al.....oh well some have more $$$ than I, I can only deduce.

I am typing up the listing as we speak.

I am happy to pull it IF a DTV member wants to buy it only before I get any bids on it. I wish my folks didn't already have one or I'd just give it to them oh well.

Yeah, I'll take it. Might be able to pick up too, live in North Narrabeen.

Just bought a 32" LCD. I don't watch much TV but I can't go past that price!

When they first came out they were over $400 so it is indeed a bargain.

If I remember the dvb-800 were a 600-$700 proposition when first released. I was one of the first to buy one. It was one of the early stb, still great but to be fair prices of stb in general have dropped a heap since.

Lochlan,

Just tried to PM you but for whatever reason your PM's are disabled.

Not sure how best to get in contact with you, but I will give you an old email address of mine to get the ball rolling - its a backup one so I don't mind putting it on here:

If you contact me first you get it, alternatively if someone else PM's me first they can have it.

Is funny as the listing is ready to go in my ebay turbo lister......

$100 boys. anyone?
