I am about to buy it, I think for a scart tv owner, with foxtel digital, its about the only option. 250gb hd, 6 hr permanent rewind buffer, and 2 scarts.

Would I be correct in assuming that the manual saying you must plug the tv out from your cable box into the video in scart on the recorder, that both scarts on the recorder would be rgb?

If someone could confirm thats a truly digital connection that'd be good. TV out scart from fox to video in scart on recorder, tv out scart on recorder to rgb scart in on tv.

No further entries since May????

I saw these at 1/2 price at Harvey Norman, and as such thought they must be a good buy.

I like the way they can change channels on a set top box, via it's G Link connection.

I do not like the slow tedious way it goes back (up to six hours) in it's time shift buffer, or am I not setting it up correctly?

Any furthercomments on this PVR welcome.

After another read of the manual for the latest one, I was reminded why I hate the Philips units. No record mode conversion, so you are stuck with burning it at the mode you recorded it. No option to delete unwanted scenes, only 'hide' them, thus wasting space on a dvd.

As for the slowness of the time shift buffer, and this may sound stupid, have you pressed reverse several times? Each time you hit rev or forward it should up in its speed. Worth a try (that's the way every other recorder works).
