davidward
this stereophile review of the RS6 floorstander from the silver series makes interesting reading.http://stereophile.com/floorloudspeakers/306monitor/ That's a fairly glowing report. The most listening pleasure of any speaker he's reviewed! ... might have to add Monitor Audio to my audition list.
betty boop
just having a look at the MA manuals on their website. noticed this one for the FX surround speakers http://www.monitoraudio.co.uk/cms/uploads/...C,FX%20Rev2.pdf the FX surrounds appear to be quite complex speakers. not only being monopole- dipole switchable which can be 12V triggered. But also The tweeters look like they can be adjsuted in level -3,0,+3 db if needed. And they are true dipoles too as per page 10 of the manual they allow full phase setting of the tweeters to setup a true dipole array in a 7.1 arrangement. joz
Wow Al,I only just found this thread.I'm glad I helped the Gold MAs to your attention. As I mention sometime ago,my GP has the stand mounts partnered with Cyrus amps and a Consonance CDP.He totally loves the setup. For me it was years ago that I'd heard the MA Silver floorstanders. They were partnered to Rega Amp/Cdp,must say the combo was extremey engaging with warmth yet detailed and controlled. So keep up the auditioning Al,as I'm curious with the outcome.

bkw
Due to budgetary issues I bought the Monitor Audio Bronze Series speakers last year. I think they are fantastic! Even though the five speaker set cost just short of $2500 they out perform speakers that I trialed at twice the price. I think they are great value for money and handle music and home cinema well which is something that cant be said about many over brands I tried.
