i would avoid graysonline in general..

You just have to be picky, the new stuff is generally safe but never buy without warranty.

I have used grays to buy the odd piece of equipment (eg Aaron subwoofer) but you need to be VERY picky about what you buy. Generally the HIFI items do not end up selling that cheaply, and are often 'reconditioned' (read repaired fault) or 'damaged' (like the plasma above) with very limited warranty. Often damaged plasmas sell for considerably more than the best prices paid on this forum.

Other items (eg bathroom accessories) are often old model stock in perculiar colours.

Grays themselves to not set out to fleece people (I have found them to be very up front if you ring them for more information) but general buyer ability to price these goods is quite poor (especially with GST, shipping and buyers premium).

The best items are when they dont describe the item properly in a large sale of liquidation items (the Aaron SW I bought being a case in point - it had no picture attached and was called by its model no. only - so not much interest).

Also be very careful if you want a quantity of an item (eg light fittings) where all the items must be in a certain style. You may be winning a bid on the whole quantity, only to be outbid on a proportion of the stock for a ridiculous price. You have to either up-bid the whole quantitiy, or accept that you wont get all that you need (and risk not being able to match it). There is no way to drop a successful partial quantity bid (I learnt this the hard way).

Grays are good. They deliver quickly and there are plenty of bargains. I've bought over a dozen items and never had an issue.

If you are looking to save a few dollars on electronics look elsewhere, but if you want cheap wine its great value.

Don't be too concerned about rushing for the Tannoys - they have been reappearing on Grays now for at least 3 months. So they will be back until the sellers try another means of offload. But if you are in the market for Tannoys, even with the 12.5% buyers premium and $22 odd delivery, they are a bargain. Was considering the Eyris 1s which would be $945 compared with $1899 retail (even with a price drop and haggling you would be hard pressed to beat this price).
