tomohawk Posted April 10, 2007 Posted April 10, 2007 I just picked up one of these today hoping for it to work with my Mac. The guy at the computer shop had no idea if it would, but said if it didnt' i could get a refund. Now, I know it doesn't come with EyeTV or any other mac software, but does anyone know if this tuner will work with OS X? If it will, then I will pay for an EyeTV licence, otherwise I will probably just return it to the shop. It was a good price, so I thought there would be nothing to lose

And maybe Excel VP7405(\ the same as Twinhan DTV alpha) is even cheaper(say$75).

The best/least expensive option is to purchase the TwinHan Alpha Mac Edition, which is bundled with the Elgato EyeTv software. There is no point buying the TwinHan Alpha and then buying the EyeTV software separately, it is more expensive that way and there is no guarantee that EyeTV will work with these other Twinhan Alpha (and derivatives) devices.
tomohawk Posted April 11, 2007 Author Posted April 11, 2007 Excellent! Thanks for the replies. I had already returned it to the shop today, anyway, but now I know what to look for. It was nice, though, booting my MacBook Pro into Windows XP, and watching TV in my local park! But for my real purposes, I need a Mac compatible one.
