kodaz Posted April 9, 2007 Posted April 9, 2007 As title states I have an NAD 208THX power amplifier for sale. I have had this since I purchased it new and it hasn't missed a beat since. I have now upgraded to a NAD M25 so it is up for sale. Below are the photos which show it to be in very good condition. the only "damage" is a small scratch to the top of the front plate (see about 1/3rd of the way in on the left hand side of the front image below). I am loath to sell it but I don't have anything I want to use it for. I have considered using it for a second zone or subwoofer amp but think this is below it's capabalities. I do not have the original box or manual (box didn't last long, not built like the amp). I also think NAD hasn't built an amp to rival this, neither the 218 or the S200 come near it. This amp is a very powerful and musical amp. I have heard only a few that give music the slight sense of warmth like NAD does. Pair this with high quality speakers and you'll get spectacular results. I also think NAD hasn't built an amp to rival this, not the 218 or the S200 come near it's depths or musicality. This is an excerpt from the review but should give you an idea of it's power handling abilities: "It uses 8 MOSFETs per channel, with a rail of 87 volts (peak to peak) to deliver 250 watts rms/ch into 8 Ohms. However, there are an additional 6 MOSFETs per channel for use during high level transient periods, i.e., short duration. The rail switches to 120 volts peak-to-peak during these periods, and the amp can deliver 600 watts rms/ch into 8 Ohms, 750 w rms/ch into 4 Ohms, and 900 w rms/ch into 2 Ohms." Here is a link to the specs sheet: http://207.228.230.231/info/NAD_208THX.pdf And a review on it: http://www.hometheaterhifi.com/volume_3_2/v3n2h.html Front: http://img219.imageshack.us/my.php?image=1002560tz8.jpg Back: http://img219.imageshack.us/my.php?image=1002561ff3.jpg I am happy for buyers to arrange their own freight but as I lack the materials to safely pack this suggest it is a pickup only item. Pick up is from Capalaba 4157. I am looking for $1500 for this and believe in it's current condition this is very good value for an amplifier of this calibre and a great price for such a rare beast from NAD. Buyer can listen to the Amp on pick up. Any questions please PM me.
