Hydrology Posted April 8, 2007 Posted April 8, 2007 Who wouldve thought Id start so many PS3-related threads! Anyways, is anybody experiencing some "issues" like me on my PS3? Issues being, for example, when watching video that Ive copied over to the PS3's internal drive, every now an then the OSD pops up despite nobody touching the controller, or in one case the video rewinding? Not a problem per se, just wondering if this is an erratic bug from the recent update.

This is something I have not experienced on my AE700 since I first bought it. Panasonic released a firmware fix for this about 3 years ago and I have never had a drop out since that time until now with the PS3. I am wondering if the 1.3 HDMI version on the PS3 is the cause of this?

You sure your wife or kids aren't hiding behind the lounge pressing random buttons, trying to make Dad think he's going nuts ? Andrew. btw, not had either of these problems.

SKG Posted April 9, 2007 Posted April 9, 2007 I have quite a few trailers on my internal drive (converted from MOV files) and no issues at all. Also, NO probs with HDMI on my 24" dell screen and Z3 Sanyo projector.

timbo333 Posted April 9, 2007 Posted April 9, 2007 I have noticed that the controller shoulder buttons are very sensitive and when i have say moved on the couch or sat down the movie will start advancing at 10x speed or whatever cos the controller has moved slightly and send the command to the ps3. I have not had any issues with my HDMI connection though. Try moving the controller away from where you are sitting....
Maverick Posted April 9, 2007 Posted April 9, 2007 I have only had one instance of HDMI drop out and that was playing 8 Below a Disney title. All other titles so far have not had any drop outs, however I have replayed 8 Below a few times since and I have not had a repeat of the drop out either. At this stage it is more likely a problem with the AE700 than the PS3 in this regard. As it has happened only once during many viewing hours I am not exactly stressing over it, my AE700 is due to be replaced in the next month or two with the new JVC HD1 1080P projector.

I thought may be the BR disc might be damaged so I went back and replayed the same section again and it played perfectly. I examined the disc but could not see any marks what so ever. So I guess I have now experienced the erratic behaviour that you have.

Maverick Posted April 11, 2007 Posted April 11, 2007 Did the pause icon show up in the bottom left corner of the screen? I did not take any notice if it did or didn't. I was looking back at the PS3 trying to decide what to do when it started playing again.
mrfish Posted April 11, 2007 Posted April 11, 2007 NO Problems on mine, although as I stated previously it froze on me a few times while playing movie trailers and playing demo games. However while playing games on disc and watching bluray movies(casino royale ) no drop outs no rewinds, it's been perfect
Maverick Posted April 11, 2007 Posted April 11, 2007 Did the pause icon show up in the bottom left corner of the screen? Mark do you use the sixaxis controller or a bluetooth remote to control your system? I use the BT remote, just wondering if the issue is with this or not?

Hydrology Posted April 12, 2007 Author Posted April 12, 2007 this could simply be caused by yor R2 and L2 buttons catching on the ground or where ever you place your controller! Quite possibly, as I only use the SIXARSE controller for media playback. As stated before, its really not a problem, just more of a observation.
