You will also not be able to play Aussie DVDs in it but I guess you know that (it will play any HD DVD disc of course). Matt

But at $650 delivered (including power solution) sounds like a nice machine at a nice price. If you want a player, could be the way to go. One thing, maybe someone in this upcoming group buy will be offloading an A1, XA1, A2 or E1. Guys, anyone gonna be selling? I'd sell you my E1, but not sure if the group on the XE1 will be low enough for me to upgrade again......but........

THX1979 Posted April 8, 2007 Posted April 8, 2007 i ordered my Sony BDP-s1 from this guy- paid for express post (150 USD) and it was 5 days before the US postal service got it (so Im still waiting). Ill let u know how I go. In my case I had to import to get Region A blu ray access. If I were wanting a HD-DVD player Id definitely grab a local product with full warranty support. And never pay retail...
AndrewW Posted April 8, 2007 Posted April 8, 2007 my 120W step down cost me $60 delivered from ebay and it's still going strong. Andrew.
THX1979 Posted April 10, 2007 Posted April 10, 2007 I stand corrected - my Sony Blu Ray player arrived today in excellent condition Kingdom Of Heaven looks very nice in 1080i

How do the US imported players handle our 50Hz electricity or is this dealt with via the step down transformer? I'm assuming it all works some how as there are quite a number of ppl on this forum who have imported units. Just wanted to make sure.

DuyKha Posted April 10, 2007 Posted April 10, 2007 Stepdown transformer's deals with Voltage and AC frequency. Cheers djOS. Was thinking of importing a BD player as there are not enough BD titles locally. I'm going local for HD DVD due to the no borders design
