angelus512 Posted April 8, 2007 Posted April 8, 2007 Just wondering if Ch10 says they broadcast their Sat night AFL games in 1080i HD is it just an inferior source upscaled or is it genuinely shot in 1080i from the beginning? Also i HEARD ch7 was broadcasting games in HD but am yet to see any evidence of it....??
anthonysimilion Posted April 8, 2007 Posted April 8, 2007 genuinely shot in 1080i from the beginning? It's genuine native 1080i.
pietro1503559499 Posted April 8, 2007 Posted April 8, 2007 except for the poor country bumpkins with SC10. We get no HD.

From who? I have heard nothing, it looks like they cant even afford any Footy shows which there was some mention of a few months ago. I cant see how they can afford HD.
dryfry Posted April 8, 2007 Posted April 8, 2007 Subiaco Oval looked fantastic in HD. As was pointed out in the other HD AFL thread you could see the blades of grass ,the hair and the sweat on the players faces Plus the shots of the clouds over Subi at sunset looked great as Ten did the scorecheck.
pc9630 Posted April 8, 2007 Posted April 8, 2007 Also i HEARD ch7 was broadcasting games in HD but am yet to see any evidence of it....?? Well in SA the Port game was coerved by 7 and was in SD and the crows game was HD from Fox though in SA during the port game their hd station was showing some getaway **** instead and I seem to have lost their program guide.

Foxtel games in HD? I know this match was "Live and Active" for the digital subscriber. But from what others have said on these forums, it's not far away that HD from Foxtel is coming. But I didn't think it was released yet, unless the game feed itself was HD and Seven rebroadcasted it into Adelaide in HD while Foxtel played it in SD Also, I didnt think Seven in Adelaide were at 1080i yet
anthonysimilion Posted April 8, 2007 Posted April 8, 2007 Unfortunately, no HD on Foxtel, or Seven in Adelaide. All SD.

And no, Seven isn't 1080i in Adelaide yet...

I dont know how many time this has to be said but their is ONLY ONE HD game of football each week and its the channel 10 broadcast prime time night game ,thats it nothing on 7 is HD even if it is on ch70 and no other ch10 games are HD even if showing on ch10 hd ch12 their just upscaled every thing on fox is SD even the reply of the ch10hd game on fox is SD
thudabot Posted April 9, 2007 Posted April 9, 2007 wheelz i can understand your frustation but there's a lot of conflicting info on the forum which in turn leads to other people being frustrated. The 'What's in HD this week' lists the Freo v Eagles game as a HD broadcast then there's the 'HD footy games' that doesn't list it. Then there's threads about it being listed on channel tens website as HD and other people saying it's not going to be HD. There doesn't seem to be a reliable source that lists all HD programming out there. Although saying that anthonysimillin does a very good job of getting it very accurate but you would think the TV Guides or channels themselves would put up something that's easier to find.

For this program, I was going off what a couple of the guides say, which is that it will be HD. I would be very impressed if it was HD. That said, from what I can see, it (Fremantle V West Coast) won't be in HD. I've added the St. Kilda V Western Bulldogs game to the guide, with start times for the TEN stations.
Greebs Posted April 9, 2007 Posted April 9, 2007 The only true HD game each week is the Saturday night primetime game that is broadcast in Melbourne. If there are other games being broadcast that night elsewhere in the country, they won't be HD. If you live elsewhere but get the same game they show in Melbourne, it'll be HD, otherwise, it won't be.

According to the program guide on Tens website, both this coming Saturdays afternoon and night AFL broadcasts in Melbourne, are in HD. Looks like they need to sort their program guide out...
wheelz Posted April 10, 2007 Posted April 10, 2007 i follow this guide for the weekly HD game, has been correct so far ps.i noticed in another thread someone got a reply from 10 say they were having trouble with 5.1 but it should be up by rd6 Round 1: Sydney v West Coast (Live to VIC & SA, 30min delay to WA, NSW, Does not air in QLD*) Round 2: West Coast v Collingwood (Live to VIC, SA, WA & QLD, 3hr Delay to NSW) Round 3: St Kilda v Western Bulldogs (Live to SA & QLD, 30min delay to VIC, 3hr Delay to NSW, Does not air in WA*) Round 4: Adelaide v Sydney (Live to VIC, SA, NSW, 1hr delay to WA, Does not air in QLD*) Round 5: Sydney v Melbourne (Live to VIC, SA, 30min delay to NSW, 90min delay to WA, Does not air in QLD*) Round 6: Adelaide v Collingwood (Live to VIC, SA, QLD, 2.5hr delay to WA, does not air in NSW*) Round 7: St. Kilda vs. Sydney (does not air in SA & QLD*) Round 8: Hawthorn vs. St. Kilda Round 9: Richmond vs. Essendon (does not air in QLD*) Round 10: Sydney vs. Essendon (does not air in QLD*) Round 11: Brisbane Lions vs. Western Bulldogs (does not air in SA*) Round 12 (Split Round): Sydney vs. Collingwood (may not air in WA^) Round 13: St. Kilda vs. Richmond (does not air in SA & QLD*) Round 14: Adelaide vs. Hawthorn (does not air in WA & QLD*) Round 15: Essendon vs. Western Bulldogs (does not air in QLD*) Round 16: West Coast vs. Sydney Round 17: Collingwood vs. Brisbane Lions (does not air in NSW*) Round 18: Adelaide vs. Port Adelaide (does not air in QLD*) Round 19: Melbourne vs. Western Bulldogs (does not air in NSW*) Round 20: West Coast vs. Richmond (does not air in NSW & QLD*) Round 21: Collingwood vs. Sydney (does not air in SA & QLD*) Round 22: Brisbane Lions vs. Geelong (does not air in SA & WA*) *Foxtel matches are being simulcast on Channel 10 instead of the scheduled HD match. A replay of the HD match will air on Fox Sports in standard definition only. ^Due to the split round, no other game is scheduled during the Sydney vs. Collingwood game. Channel 10 Perth might air this match, but at this stage it seems unlikely. Note, the first 6 rounds are confirmed by the AFL, and the other rounds are based on the AFL 2007 games schedule for AUSTAR/FOXTEL Stats: By State: VIC: 22/22 in HD NSW: 18/22 in HD WA: 18/22 in HD SA: 17/22 in HD QLD: 10/22 in HD
thudabot Posted April 10, 2007 Posted April 10, 2007 spew......so no HD for the western Derby or HD at all this week in WA pffftt so frustrating to people that have the equipment but can't get any decent programing
RodN Posted April 14, 2007 Posted April 14, 2007 I thought the only HD cameras were at the MCG? Doesn't appear to be any clarification about upscaled vs native?
jayson5 Posted April 14, 2007 Posted April 14, 2007 I hate this sport, silly silly game. But it does look good on 10 HD. The only problem is it looks really bad on the SD 10 channels. You cant even make out the ball it has so many artifacts.
oak Posted April 14, 2007 Posted April 14, 2007 I thought the only HD cameras were at the MCG? Doesn't appear to be any clarification about upscaled vs native? Channel 10 show 1 native HD game each Saturday night - all the rest are upscaled. And no, it doesnt have to be at the MCG - the 1st native HD game was at Telstra Stadium in Sydney (Syd v WC), the second was in Perth (WC v Coll) - this week will be the first HD game in Melbourne (although it won't be seen in Perth because of the Derby) - and thats at Telstra Dome anyway! The HD equipment / cameras are moved to appropriate venue as needed. Re upscaling - Carl v Ess, looks so much better on 12 (HD) than it does on 10 (SD) atm, even though it's not true HD. 10 SD is even worse than 7
Neon Kitten Posted April 14, 2007 Posted April 14, 2007 I know this match was "Live and Active" for the digital subscriber. Is that how Foxtel promotes it - live and "active"? How silly. But then, it is Telstra
