Hi,

As mentioned in the sxrd 60 and 70" thread, our family has just placed an order for the 70" sxrd.

I'm confused though as to what the correct model number should be (of course I'm wanting the most up to date model in Australia). Online I can find both KS70R200 and KDS70R2000 (similar to the 60" KDS60R2000 model number), using www.google.com with the Australia button checked.

I just want to make sure we are ordering the correct unit and do not end up with an earlier model or anything.

What is even more weird is that each of the above sites only has one of the model numbers when seraching on their site. If I punch in the opposite model number it says it does not exist. I'm totally confused becaue the specs look identical as far as I can see. The only thing that might make sense is that I've heard Sony can sometimes release the same model but batched in a different package (perhaps one of these is with the exteranl STB and the other is not. But, I'm just guessing here based on heresay).

Are these the same model or what?

On our receipt it says Sony - KS70R200

The sales guy also wrote down that it comes with an extra lamp and STB (he rang his supplier to check this at the time).

Just want to make extra sure we have ordered the correct (latest) model.

I really hope someone can shed light on this?

Cheers,

ozgal

The correct model number is KS70R200.

There is only one 70" model available in Australia (as far as I am aware).

Thanks Alfred,

Mopping my sweaty brow over this in case we were duped. Very confusing though to find the different model numbers on Australian sites. (www.cnet.com.au also has one listed - Sony Bravia KDS-70R2000).

Cheers,

ozgal
