bacco|007
I'm impressed with ABC HD (only got the HD STB today) - but while watching The West Wing tonight, towards the end of the show there was a cutaway to a scene from what looks like a program on the Patricks Dock strike, a rewind of the scene and return to The West Wing Is this a common occurence? GoForMoe
That was the first time I have seen it do that, and it was really annoying, they didn't even rewind back to where they left off. It is a one off though (I hope). Did SD suffer the same problem?

Probably a good time to mention again - 'Bastard Boys' will be on ABC HD 13th/14th May. It's a two part drama, all about the Patricks' waterfront dispute. Sounds like a worthwhile program to watch. http://www.abc.net.au/tv/guide/highlights/s1879645.htm
BrotherEstapol
Did SD suffer the same problem? I don't think so, cause as soon as I saw that there was a problem I switched over to SD and it was fine.

I believe it was the first time this has happened, as stated elsewhere, I simply swithched back to SD via foxtel and all was well.
tonygib
No, not happened before and was a real bummer for a top hour and a half of otherwise quality TV (even Santa may agree ). I would have switched to SD as well, except I was recording HD and would be totally pissed if not for the fact that I will get the DVD box set and only keeping the recordings as a temp backup. Of course the worse part was that what happened inbetween just got totally skiped, no idea what went wrong but it was a pretty big stuff up really. Inego1503560167
Luckily I had the SD toppy recirding as well - no, it definitely didn't happen on SD. Kent
myk
I'm impressed with ABC HD (only got the HD STB today) - but while watching The West Wing tonight, Has the West Wing PQ improved? last time I watched it, the only way I could tell for sure it was HD was from the sharp text in the credits. On a frame-frame comparison, HD just made the film-grain more obvious. Some people like that.
Inego1503560167
As I said in another thread, when I switched from HD to the SD Toppy it looked as though someone had smeared vaseline across the screen. I hadn't realised the difference was so great, probably because I never have a reason to do a back to back comparison, because I watch the show rather than check the PQ. SimonB1503560073
Gee, I am SO upset (well, relatively) that this weekends episode(s) will be the "last ever". Sigh. What will I do on Saturday nights?

Santa1503559644
Yeah, parts of the final series were much better after the previous series had been heading downhill fast. WRT Studio 60 ... supposedly Nine(?) were going to show this in 2007 ... but I suppose you're probably better off not holding your breath!
SimonB1503560073
Find the 16 currently existing episodes of Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip and make them your Saturday night viewing for the next few months Mr (I assume) Kitten, I am in your debt. I have just watched ep 1 of "Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip" and, within the first 10 minutes I knew it was going to be quality. Having now finished the first episode, I can't wait to see the others Thankyou, thankyou, thankyou. However, those thanks are tainted by the recollection that the series was cancelled recently. Why can't people support quality television? Amazing. Simon....
