Thought I'd throw some support towards your lonely thread Foxy,

Intersting that there wasn't any warning come up on screen before the lamp died/needed replacing, is this common for InFocus PJs?

Curious

Thanks Curious.

As I said its owned by a good mate of mine, no idea if any light came up or not. He said it happened when he tried to turn it on, no picture, he checked inside had bits of silver (from lamp) in bottom of case, he checked the filters and they were clogged, even though I told him twice in the past to clean them each 3 months, he didn't for a year!. Lamp done I guess about 1200 hours, pitty really.

Oh oh, sounds like the lamp partly self destructed (I say partly cos he still got a brief picture from it when initially turned on?) still it's good advic about cleaning the filter, must remember that for when I get set-up again  (hopefully next couple weeks!)

Cheers,

Curious

He said it turned on briefly but then went dead.

I clean my filter every 3 months no matter what hours I've done. I haven't trained the wife how to do this yet but think I will while she has the Vac out!.

As luck had it, some months ago I picked up a new Epson TW600 lamp from a member here for just $275 (RRP$550) so I have a spare.

  • 4 months later...

Since I can't post a new topic to the forums under my login I'm going to have to post here:

Where's the best place to aquire a new infocus 4805 projector lamp? with the best price of course :)

My projectors lamp went during in a good movie on Saturday night - no warning ... It was an ex-demo when I brought it so I'm guessing the lamp timer was out ...certainly haven't done over a 1000 or even 2000 hrs ...

Thanks in Advance/
