terbolee Posted April 6, 2007 Posted April 6, 2007 I just bought a Sansui DVD player that comes with an SVGA port labelled "P-Scan Video Out". I connected this port to my BenQ LCD 21" monitor only to get an "Out of Range" Error. I used the standard SVGA cable. My monitor typically used the DVI port to connect to my PC's PCI-Express video card. I'm probably connecting the wrong devices but would like some suggestions, please. Thanks. I will soon be travelling and thought that this compact Sansui might allow me to watch DVD movies via my LCD monitor. If I can get it working, it's 3.1 speakers would certainly be better than watching movies on a laptop. It works with a normal CRT monitor...something I'd hate to lug with me. Any suggestions? Thanks.

This message could mean that the DVD is generating a signal that cannot be displayed by the LCD because either the resolution or refresh rate is not compatible with the monitor. You should check the valid display modes in the monitor's manual. You may be able to change the resolution in the DVD players setup menu. Hope this helps Cheers Craig
sold Posted April 10, 2007 Posted April 10, 2007 Yeah, odds are the DVD player is outputting @ 50Hz and the monitor won't go that low. Even if it did it's likely you'd have scaling issues.
