I'm hoping someone can help me. I have read that you can run the foxtel signal out of your STB into your antenna and that will allow you to have foxtel running on other TV's in the house by simply tuning to the frequency that is being output.

Is this correct and if so how do I do it and what do i need to get to make it work? I have an IQ so does that make any difference?

Thanking everyone in advance

You need to buy the foxtel 'multiroom' product - basically it means you can watch foxtel on another tv, and also control the foxtel box from that tv with a seperate remote. Of course you can't watch two different things at once on both TVs...

go to www.foxtel.com.au/accessories

Thanks, yeah I have read about that but the problem is you need to run a cable directly from the iq to your second TV. What I wanted to do was run from the RF2 output on the back of the iq into the antenna point in the main room then just tune in the tv's that were connected to the antenna in other rooms. I'm sure I have seen people write about this but I'm not sure how to go about it (or if it works)

(Theoretically  ), run a RF cable from the RF2 output to the ceiling space. Use a RF splitter in reverse, with antenna and foxtel feed going in, and a single feed coming out, which you then distribute (via whatever number splitter you need) to the rest of the house.

Sometimes you will need amplification of the signal depending on the number of rooms you want to split to.

A slightly different variation is to split the output of the antenna in the main room - send one to your usual PVR/TV etc, and the other to the IQ. Then send the IQ RF2 output to the ceiling as above, and then distribute this via a splitter to the other rooms. (You have effectively used the IQ box as the 'diplexer' to combine the FTA signal and foxtel RF output, rather than having a splitter in reverse.) If you need a RF amplifier because of low signal output, put it after the IQ box but before the ceiling splitter.

Plenty of threads about this around in the foxtel forum.

Be aware, that unless you are using the foxtel muti-room, that it is against foxtel terms and conditions to distribute their signal.

In theory you could also compare pricing for Sky+ Digital Eye and Sky+ Remotes off a famouse online auction website.

Note: Sky+ remotes will only work with the sky+ digital eye.
