Titanic Posted April 4, 2007 Posted April 4, 2007 Only just noticed this and it appears to have been mentioned before. On playback of a recorded source I am getting small but regular sound drop outs (about every30-40 secs). I have watched while recording and what I am monitoring is fine. I am using S-video and optical connection through my Yamaha 2700. I recently did some cable changing and I am wondering if this is the problem but from what I have read it coud be a reception problem however signal strength is at max as always as we live very close to the transmitter. Any suggestions
tonymy01 Posted April 4, 2007 Posted April 4, 2007 Are you running Toppytools by chance? It regularly polls the Toppy HDD via USB, and I notice sometimes a regular dropout as it polls (particularly when dual recording). As such, I don't run it now :-( (I use ftp through a SLUG then USB, rather than direct USB).
Titanic Posted April 5, 2007 Author Posted April 5, 2007 No the Toppy is stock standard I am systematically removing cables and devices from my theatre amp but as yet it is still doing it I might just make an analogue connection to the amp and avoid a pure digital connection It will keep me amused until I find what is causing it
