I am just setting up an MSI TV@nywhere A/D on a new computer for a friend. Everything is installed fine and scans found all the channels from the local transmitter (Mt Barrow North Tassie)

Problem is there is no audio on ABC, Win, Southern Cross or TDT HD, SBS HD is fine as are all the SD channels.

I checked the config settings for the problem channels and they all have the audio pid set to zero which is wrong.

So I copied down the audio PIDS from my computer (Compro T-300) and edited the problem channels with the correct audio PIDs. Now I get sound but it just consists of little blips and squeaks.

Software that came with the card is just called DTV and is version 1.4.33.645 build 1230 (Latest on MSI's site). After a bit of hunting around I found it is the same as the Lifeview FlyDVB-T Hybrid card software so I got the latest I could find on their site and installed that. This is version 1.4.35.600 build 1236. This has the same issue as the official MSI one. I have also installed the latest MSI drivers for the card and tried the older version that came with the card itself.

Reception and antenna are fine as my own Compro T-300 has no issues receiving any of these channels.

Computer is an AMD3800+ single core with 2gb ram and X1950 pro PCI-Express GFX card on an MSI K9N4 Ultra mobo and an Antec 480W PSU, Windows XP home SP2 and all updates.

All drivers are current and the computer works fine otherwise, including watching movies and playing games.

So has anyone got any ideas on correcting this issue? Or perhaps some alternative software I can try (free software please)?

I've found a solution (don't know if it works for all though...): Open the DTV application, go 'Tool' menu --> 'Scan' --> Under 'Scan new frequency...' window --> go to the list of channels --> click on one of the HD channels to highlight it --> scroll accross until you can see the column entitled 'Audio' --> click on the respective cell (probably has a number '1' in it) and choose 'AC3' from the pulldown. You'll need to do this for all HD channels. I also found that in order for these settings to be correctly applied (i.e. not screw up as soon as you change channels...), you need to click 'OK' on 'Scan new frequency...' window and immediately close & reopen the DTV application.

Don't know whether it has any affect but I'm using is the latest driver and DTV application (1.4.38.689 build 1253) at time of writing (both available for download from MSI).

For the record, the computer in which this MSI TV @nywhere A/D card is installed doesn't have an AC3 sound card nor a software or hardware decoder. It's just a simple Realtek HD 2-channel sound card.

Other setup info: WinXP Pro SP2, ATI x1300 Series (latest drivers), HP Compaq DX7300 with Intel Core2 Duo E6300.

Hi, I have the same TV card & although I get the sound ok it is very faint compared to other apps & windows environment, adjusting the Volume or wave settings only increases the overall sound, the DTV volume is set to full!

There seems to be no settings for this within or external to the DTV program, anyone have a fix or can offer some advise please?

Many thanks.
