Zubiz1503560776 Posted April 3, 2007 Posted April 3, 2007 I just phoned the Epson help/service line to ask about their warranty regarding international purchases. I asked if I bought back a projector on my trip to Japan what warranty could I expect, The answer was just what I was looking for. Epson will accept international warranty, the warranty would be for 24 months and I can purchase an additional 12 month warranty from epson once back in Australia. He said that epson would not refuse to fix a projector under warranty just because It was purchased in another country. So if anyone wanting to purchase an epson projector whilst OS but unsure due to warrnty issues don't hesitate. Not sure about PriceJapan but I would assume that buying from them Would be coverd aswell. Other companies should have a real good look at Epson's Sales and Service and see why they are regarded as one of the best around.

As an early adopter of the Epson TW600 PJ, I said a number of times the service I (and others I know of) have received from Epson over 20 years with various products has been outstanding, a hell off a lot better than a few other makers mentioned in these DTV forums for sure, interesting post a real international warranty, they are few and far between, well done.

Guest bobot Posted April 3, 2007 Posted April 3, 2007 Called epson myself and was told that if i bought the projector while in Japan and was travelling to another contry it would be covered if repair is needed in this period. Then i was told if i bought a projector by importing from overseas while in australia then it would not be covered. Very confusing.
Zubiz1503560776 Posted April 3, 2007 Author Posted April 3, 2007 I did not ask about importing but I can't see the difference. As he stated "We will not refuse to fix an item just becuase it was not purchased in Australia". That was what he said after putting me on hold and double checking.
KernelPanic Posted April 4, 2007 Posted April 4, 2007 The only problem is being told that over the phone, it might change when you hand it in to be repaired.
