Hdmi Cable With Sanyo Z5

Recommended Posts

I've pretty much decided that I am going to purchase a Sanyo Z5 when I move into my new house in a few weeks time. In the meantime, I've been looking at what cables I need and was going to start purchasing 2 x 10m HDMI cables, 1 for DVD player and 1 for Digital Set top box(this one is actually DVI to HDMI)

But I'm really concerned now from what I have read about HDMI cables not working, especially long ones like 10 or 15m ones. I don't understand this "handshake" thing.

Has anyone had problems with the Sanyo Z5 not working with some HDMI cables?

I don't really want to be spending hundreds of dollars per cable so I was looking at the cheap ones. Otherwise maybe I should just get long Component cables. But I really thought HDMI would give me a better picture.

Any comments??

Yeh, I'm thinking of the Selbys one. They look identical though to Super Cables;

Has anyone bought from these guys?

I have not bought anything from the Supercables but the cable looks fine, I bought my 15 metres HDMI from

Sterlingtek.com but their shipping price have almost doubled and their cable price jumped USD10.00. Back in

Jan 2007 I bought the cable from them for AUD94.00.
