mello yello Posted April 1, 2007 Posted April 1, 2007 Id like to know if FINA has been covering it up There has been a positive drug test returned by Thorpie Al....L'Equipe did not pee in the jar for him
Claudiecat Posted April 1, 2007 Posted April 1, 2007 L'Equipe a French publication was the outfit that continually alleged drug cheating by Lance Armstrong - never proved. The existence of God is impossible to disprove too. Imagine you're a world-class athlete whose natural ability and years of slog in training mean you can be the best in the world and reap the consequent rewards of fame and fortune. But, you're in a sport that's susceptible to performance improvement through 'doping'. Its very difficult to detect and anyway the administrators and sponsors are loath to expose drug users because of the damage it would do the sport and the associated revenue streams. Your key rivals are therefore doping and winning and living in mansions in Monaco and chatting regularly with Oprah and Letterman. Do you (1) resign yourself to always coming 4th or 5th or worse (2) give the sport away (3) switch to tiddly winks because doping gives negligible advantage, or (4) ignore the long-term health risks and take up 'doping' in order to level the playing field?
Aloysius Posted April 1, 2007 Author Posted April 1, 2007 Id like to know if FINA has been covering it upThere has been a positive drug test returned by Thorpie Al....L'Equipe did not pee in the jar for him But how positive can it be if the alleged offender isn't advised and it happened more than 12 months ago - there has to be more to this How does LEquipe get to know about it before Thorpe but still a year later?
Austen Posted April 1, 2007 Posted April 1, 2007 Id like to know if FINA has been covering it upThere has been a positive drug test returned by Thorpie Al....L'Equipe did not pee in the jar for him Darn, Bugger and cr@p.....Here I go again, agreeing 100% with mello, goodness, this is getting to be annoying. But how positive can it be if the alleged offender isn't advised and it happened more than 12 months ago - there has to be more to this How does LEquipe get to know about it before Thorpe but still a year later? And agreeing with Aloy too here, I'm not sure what has happened, and it's a fair guess that we'll never find out the whole truth, but at the end of the day, I couldn't of put it any better then mello, except maybe to change the formatting.................. "L'Equipe did not pee in the jar for him" I also agree with Claudiecat (spits to the left), with the amount of money involved there is a great incentive for these things to be covered up at the highest level. A couple of days ago I saw one of the AFL head-honchos being interviewed on TV, and to paraphrase him.....We don't have too much of a drug problem in the AFL, so there is no need for a zero-tolerance approach. What utter cr@p !!! Either you tolerate drugs in sport, or you have a zero-tolerance approach, you cannot be a "little bit pregnant". So Thorpie, How'd the testosterone get in your pee ? Mum give you a Panadol containing extra testosterone ? Excuses at 11.00 ................... Austen.
CoNFooZeD Posted April 2, 2007 Posted April 2, 2007 Id like to know if FINA has been covering it upThere has been a positive drug test returned by Thorpie Al....L'Equipe did not pee in the jar for him Technically it wasn't a positive drug test, it was a possible hormone imbalance which can occur naturally. No drugs have been detected.
Austen Posted April 2, 2007 Posted April 2, 2007 Technically it wasn't a positive drug test, it was a possible hormone imbalance which can occur naturally. No drugs have been detected. ".........drug test that showed he had abnormal levels of testosterone and the hormone that stimulates the production of testosterone." : "Thorpe said his first objective was to find medical evidence to prove that the unusual levels of testosterone and luteinising hormone in his urine sample were not because of doping." You are correct, no drugs (such as mad-cow-juice) or similar were found, just "abnormal" levels of "naturally" occurring hormones. Until this is adequately explained by "NOT THORPIES DOCTOR" the suspicion remains. Mind you....There is one way a man can get too much testosterone in his body, but it may not show up on a blood test.... <====Knowing winky coming out Austen.

mello yello Posted April 2, 2007 Posted April 2, 2007 ...let me see... about 8 or so minutes. Lenny Paul: It's not just the cyclists. Bobsledder Paul gets an honorable mention for this excuse: When found with a higher than normal nandrolone content, he blamed the beef in his spaghetti sauce for testing positive. The cows, he said, had been on steroids. JAVIER SOTOMAYOR, TRACK AND FIELD Busted for: Cocaine in 1999 Excuse: The Cuban high jumper blamed the Mafia. His government blamed the CIA. Outcome: One-year ban, stripped of Pan American Games gold medal PETR KORDA, TENNIS Busted for: Nandrolone in 1998 Excuse: He ingested it accidentally while dining on steroid-fed veal. Outcome: One-year ban; testing found that he would have needed to wolf down 40 calves a day for 20 years to account for the levels in his system.
