Austen Posted April 1, 2007 Posted April 1, 2007 Ok its not really Mr Ts birthday ok But it is April 1 Do they make them like they used to? I didn't spot my favourite, which was the BBC program that declared the whole U.S. space program was nothing more than a media conspiracy and that the Moon landings were actually filmed in some hangar... Just cause I didn't spot it doesn't mean it's not there; though I would have thought it'd come pretty high up. There's still folks who don't believe that it was a April Fool's presentation...
Austen Posted April 1, 2007 Posted April 1, 2007 ............... that the Moon landings were actually filmed in some hangar... Seen this video ? Austen.
Steve C Posted April 1, 2007 Posted April 1, 2007 Seen this video ?Austen. Ah... I hadn't seen that Austen; thanks! It certainly proves beyond doubt that the best April Fool's material never dies, it just goes on generating even more April fool's day fodder for every day of the Year! Oooo... I wonder why the site that had this video that "proves" the Apollo 11 moon landing never happened "mysteriously changed it's layout and doesn't have the video on line anymore"? Probably because they got to see the actual BBC April Fool's Day show it got ripped from, and realised what gullible ignoramas' they were for believing it was true in the first place!

mello yello Posted April 1, 2007 Author Posted April 1, 2007 Crikey mello... how do you get the time to go through all of them?! Actually it was all part of a counter conspiracy theory conspiracy...or so the theory goes.. I heard Fuxup News actually broke the story about the moon landing being fake (suspicious in itself) ... with the intention to eventually debunk and prove the theory false .....and thus be able to discredit ALL conspiracy theories. But you could say the counter conspiracy theory theory was a conspiracy in itself proving that conspiracies do in fact exist....rather than the other way round. As usual Fuxup...fuxed up <---all seeing eye Winky
Steve C Posted April 1, 2007 Posted April 1, 2007 But you could say the counter conspiracy theory theory was a conspiracy in itself proving that conspiracies do in fact exist....rather than the other way round. As usual Fuxup...fuxed up <---all seeing eye Winky Ah... but there's never been a denial of conspiracy, because we all conspire at some point in our lives... It's whether there are conspiracies of such sweeping complexity, that would involve complicity - and in the Moon landing conspiracy's case, from those the conspirators were hoping to outfox with such a conspiracy, namely the Russians; really taking place. If the Russians knew the Apollo landing was a hoax, it would have been a breeze for them to expose the hoax and subsequent conspiracy. Given Russia had the technology to monitor America's orbital activity as much as the U.S. had to monitor theirs, they would have been in a prime position to disgrace America in the eyes of the World - yet they didn't... A conspiracy that managed to get the Russians to go along at the time when America's prestige was on the line? A time when the Cold War was still fresh in our minds and a global nuclear conflict was still a distinct possibility. To organise a conspiracy like that beggars belief! That's why the best conspiracy theories always involve 'the tentacle' that leads from some lesser more supposedly proveable events, into the dark heart that resides either within World governing organisations, Governments and Corporations. It's the sort of storyline that makes people watch shows like 24. By the time series number three of said "you won't believe how deep the conspiracy goes" storylined show comes out, most people are looking for something else to watch because the storyline is done to death, and getting more and more implausible in the face of real world competencies shown by any Government or corporate employees/officers we have to deal with. I do think we need some more Alien conspiracy theories though. It's such a shame that we don't have UFO reports and cover-up rumours like we used to...

50mxe20 Posted April 2, 2007 Posted April 2, 2007 A few years ago there was a report the Sydney Opera house was sinking. That was a good one. A lot of people got conned.
mello yello Posted April 2, 2007 Author Posted April 2, 2007 Formula 1 apparently were looking at using Cruise Control in the latter parts of races to conserve fuel and help with global warming ...reported yesterday FIA to look to cruise control
Timmy Downawell Posted April 2, 2007 Posted April 2, 2007 Like me, I rushed to post it up here before I read it properly and checked the links Actually I noticed that after I posted my comment here, but decided to spare you the embarassment of pointing it out (aren't I sweet). We all have our moments. The person doing the graphics on Nine News tonight seemed to have a hard time keeping up during the bulletin, before this appeared during the weather.
CoNFooZeD Posted April 3, 2007 Posted April 3, 2007 Many years ago there was a story in the newspaper that the Adelaide City Council had received sponsorship from Seiko and were going to replace the Town Hall clock with a digital display. The article included a picture with a tacky looking digital face on the clock. It caused a fair amount of uproar from people who didn't get the joke.
Thudd1503560234 Posted April 3, 2007 Posted April 3, 2007 FIA to look to cruise control The 'Fisi-Button'... lol ...
Santa1503559644 Posted April 3, 2007 Posted April 3, 2007 BMW used to routinely churn out reasonably funny ads every April 1. Dunno if they still do. Probably do it for WankMobiles Minis these days! Sometimes, though, the media put out their usual stories without intending any April Fools component, yet still release clangers like the news that aircraft will soon be "cutting their engines and gliding in" to our airports...
Thudd1503560234 Posted April 4, 2007 Posted April 4, 2007 BMW used to routinely churn out reasonably funny ads every April 1. The BMW ad this year was a new instant messaging technology that allows drivers to display text (in mirror writing) on their windshield to "communicate advice, warnings, helpful driving tips and salutations ... without even lifting a finger" (taken from Wiki). I haven't found an example of the ad yet though.
