Livingthedream Posted March 31, 2007 Posted March 31, 2007 Guys, Hooked up my PS3 via component, have watched a couple of BR movies and played 2 games, but i cant seem to see what anything is outputting out? When my STB comes on it says 1080i or whatever it happens to be, i cant seem to pull this up anywhere on my PS3. When i hit the info botton during BR movie it gives me Sound Mpbs speed etc but no output level. I want to confirm everything is coming through in 1080i As mentioned i thought i had seen tu=his answered in a thread but cant find it. cheers
AndrewW Posted March 31, 2007 Posted March 31, 2007 I don't think you can get this from the PS3 itself. Does your display show the resolution when you switch inputs ? My LCD tv does, and on my projector it shows up on the menu. Andrew.
add heywood Posted March 31, 2007 Posted March 31, 2007 Go to your ps3 home menu - go to settings and then display settings. It will tell you what your ps3 is sending out - you can program what lead you are using etc and test different outputs eg 576p 720p 1080i etc
Guest Danny Boy Posted March 31, 2007 Posted March 31, 2007 Hit the information button on the tv remote. I've got 1080i for blu-ray and 720p for games automatically. The PS3 is unable to display it as far as I'm aware.
Livingthedream Posted March 31, 2007 Author Posted March 31, 2007 Mmm Thanks guys. I will have more of a play today, and see what i can do. I have set my PS3 up for 760p and 1080i but just want to know what its outputting when. ta
AndrewW Posted April 1, 2007 Posted April 1, 2007 Go to your ps3 home menu - go to settings and then display settings. It will tell you what your ps3 is sending out - you can program what lead you are using etc and test different outputs eg 576p 720p 1080i etc But this only tells you the res the dashboard is running in. It will automatically switch to the highest possible res when running games or watching movies (which may not be the same as the dashboard res). Andrew.
