How Can I Tell What My Definfition My Ps3 Is Displaying At

Recommended Posts

Guys,

Hooked up my PS3 via component, have watched a couple of BR movies and played 2 games, but i cant seem to see what anything is outputting out?

When my STB comes on it says 1080i or whatever it happens to be, i cant seem to pull this up anywhere on my PS3. When i hit the info botton during BR movie it gives me Sound Mpbs speed etc but no output level.

I want to confirm everything is coming through in 1080i

As mentioned i thought i had seen tu=his answered in a thread but cant find it.

cheers

Hit the information button on the tv remote. I've got 1080i for blu-ray and 720p for games automatically. The PS3 is unable to display it as far as I'm aware.

Go to your ps3 home menu - go to settings and then display settings. It will tell you what your ps3 is sending out - you can program what lead you are using etc and test different outputs eg 576p 720p 1080i etc

But this only tells you the res the dashboard is running in.

It will automatically switch to the highest possible res when running games or watching movies (which may not be the same as the dashboard res).

Andrew.

it's against forum etiquette to post posts without a message in them just to get the post count up, there is a specific thread for this purpose under "new members" under "help, suggestions and forum announcements"
