fRuItCaKe. Posted April 6, 2007 Posted April 6, 2007 No wired connection?? What about the 10/100 port in the back? Looks pretty wired to me. How do these boxes compare with the Mediagate 350HD range?
chatham Posted April 7, 2007 Author Posted April 7, 2007 There's currently no FTP or NAS functionality enabled in the firmware, so it's a nice looking ethernet port and not much else ATM, 'though others have posted elsewhere that they can stream to the box from somewhere on their network...I haven't had much luck getting it going Can't comment on the Mediagate, sorry.
firthy Posted April 13, 2007 Posted April 13, 2007 Just plug in the ethernet and give it an IP or use DHCP then it will pick up the shared drives on other PC on the LAN. You can then play movies, music etc via the LAN. Handy if you dont have a hard drive in the mvix unit.
firthy Posted April 15, 2007 Posted April 15, 2007 Has anyone used the MVIX in 1080p with the latest firmware? When I select it the screen moves several inches to the right.

For the life of me I cannot get this to work, I'm running a wired network, I can ping the Mvix on 192.168.61.6 from my laptop (192.168.61.3) and created a guest account in WinXP, and I've shared the drive on the lappy's HDD, all through a Netgear gigabit switch, and added my internal LAN as a trusted zone in ZoneAlarm. Bring on the FTP/NAS firmware release...
