AndrewW Posted March 30, 2007 Author Posted March 30, 2007 Are they more reliable than yesAsia Andrew? I haven't actually ordered from them before, but I believe so I have heard many glowing reports, and not a single report (here and on whirlpool). And thanks for bringing up bad memories skid Andrew.
Chesty Posted March 30, 2007 Posted March 30, 2007 And thanks for bringing up bad memories skid Andrew. Yeah...and i had just started to begin sleeping better at night!
Skid_MacMarx Posted March 30, 2007 Posted March 30, 2007 And thanks for bringing up bad memories skid sorry Andrew, my post was not meant that way.. i'm considering purchasing a standalone (dual format hopefully) from PriceJapan later down the track considering how Yesasia have treated you guys .. they won't be getting a cent of my money...

It's ok Skid, I was only joking. Seriously, I have not heard a single bad word about playasia. And the whirlpool crowd are pretty hard to please. Andrew.
Hydrology Posted March 30, 2007 Posted March 30, 2007 I order from Play-Asia all the time (particularly 360 and DS games). So today I ordered a Wii component cable , Elite Beat Agents for the DS and Splinter Cell for the 360 ($29!). Havent ordered any PS3 games because, well, I have no interest in them (getting MOtorstorm as a pressie next week tho'). Shame their BR discs are pricey, this could have resulted in some good savings on movies.

Yeh, I though this sounded too good to be true. I went looking for some PS3 stuff, and most of the items I was interested in was 1-5 day, which is not eligible. Or even is marked as released in the the last 30 days (e.g. US motorstorm - wasn't this a release title). Oh well.

I got some games before they went to 1-5days shipping. Remember it started yesterday and with Lik-Sang gone heaps of people buy from Play-Asia. Ive used them for over 1.5yrs now. Excellent service, packages always arrive with 5-10days.

Not sure if its going to happen but MLB2K7 is stated as being in stock as of 02/03/2007. So if the 30 day rule counts tomorrow it should be on special. Well thats what Im hoping for. Major League Baseball 2K7
beeHT Posted April 17, 2007 Posted April 17, 2007 Hey guys, I am sure I have read the answer to this somewhere on this forum, just can't find the answer again so please bear with me!! I just wanted to know about the 360's ability to play games purchased from places like playasia. Are games region free or are there some exceptions, like if the title makes reference to NTSC?? Thanks guys and apologies if i am asking a question that has probably been answered before!!

Hydrology Posted April 17, 2007 Posted April 17, 2007 beeHT and big marcelo, Unlike the PS3, only SOME games are region free. THe large companies like EA generally have region "coding" or some such on their titles. Having said all that, there seems to be a lot more games coming out for the 360 that appear to be region free. If you buy a Asian 360, you will be limited to region free games and Asian games. Hope this helps.

I hate region coding in any form!!! ARGHHHHHH
Heiser202 Posted April 17, 2007 Posted April 17, 2007 hi Mark, quick question, if I buy a 360 from playasia will it play local games? or, do I need to buy games from there too?thanks... buy one local. They have so many problems, you will be forever sending it back to play-asia. When you get one local make sure you get extra warranty. EB has complete exchange new for old if it stuffs up

When you get one local make sure you get extra warranty. EB has complete exchange new for old if it stuffs up got a premium one on ebay, two weeks old, for under $500 .... pretty happy with the deal... I should receive it by Monday (tomorrow) ... got some accessories from play asia ... extra wireless controller, battery & remote charger & quick double charger, gears of war, rainbow six vegas, wireless headset, usb wireless adapter ... so I think I'm all set for a while....
Heiser202 Posted April 22, 2007 Posted April 22, 2007 You could have scored a new premium one from JB for $639, with Gears of war, PGR3, DOA4 and Crackdown. Trust me. These 360's break all the time. I havent had mine for 4 weeks, as the 3 they have returned have busted in a day again.
Guest teflon Posted April 22, 2007 Posted April 22, 2007 Pallamallawa ... is that deal at any jbhifi? The only one I've seen advertised is for $689 with Gears of War, PGR3, and DOA4 ... I assume the deal you're talking about is with a bit of haggling?
Andre281503560612 Posted April 23, 2007 Posted April 23, 2007 Does anyone know about region coding on the wii? I know some games at play-asia say they are for Asian Wii's, and some are for North American. Do we share any of these regions? Does play-asia carry wii games compatible on our machines?
Hydrology Posted April 23, 2007 Posted April 23, 2007 It seems the Wii games for other regions cant work on local Wiis, and vice versa, until somebody brings out a Wii version of the Freeloader disc that was popular with GameCube owners.

Guest teflon Posted April 23, 2007 Posted April 23, 2007 Yeah, went into JB today after work and that deal was unfortunately finished ... I was looking for the cheapest option to get my HD add on working after failing with my single core HTPC ... managed to get a good deal at Toys 'r' us and have set it up tonight... Component looks better than VGA on my hitachi 8900 ... unfortunately had bought a joytech VGA cable which I will now try to sell!
