I have been monitoring the high-def scene, hoping the wars will end soon so I can buy a new high-def player....

Anyway, I am planning a study trip to USA and stopping by HKG on the way. With a budget of 3-5k for HT related items, eg source, speakers etc (except sub), discs etc.

Been planning my HT / music setup for a while.

Can I ask anyone here to recommend hi fi items to buy?

And the places to get them as well.

Will be in both the Eastern and Western seaboard and I have a friend in Seattle to deposit my stuff.

Cheers

PS: just ordered some Belkin power conditioners off Amazon for a start

Thanks!

foxtail also sent me some info, I love the amp prices, and am very tempted, but shipping is an issue, since I am going on to USA. Am eyeing a Nikon SLR as well, but lingo might be an issue.

Where another land of shopping awaits....

I am looking towards the HD scene, but it still seems too early to jump on board

Appreciate all advice on HKG & USA.

Cheers

They speak this crazy new 'E N G L I S H' language thing over there now and everything... apparently that way the white colored creatures don't have to shout or use their hands alot.

Thank you for your witty reply

I actually reckon it is useful to understand and speak their language. I have friends who get a better price as Cantonese speakers.

Anyway, if anyone is up and about in HKG in early May, we can catch up for a cuppa.
