mchuelio Posted March 27, 2007 Posted March 27, 2007 Dont know if it's the right forum, but I'm reviewing it! Just watched a Preview and my god does this movie rock! The best action movie I've seen for along time, the battle scenes are remarkable, we have romance for the women, and a good story line! A must have movie when it comes out on HD DVD or BD! Well worth the money, guys and girls! Keep trucking Mc
Wilco1503560275 Posted March 27, 2007 Posted March 27, 2007 huh? did u watch the preview or a prescreen/advance screening? previews dont mean much!
wheelz Posted March 27, 2007 Posted March 27, 2007 previews usually show all the good/funny bits and get you excited, then you see the whole movie and its crap i hope this is not the case in this movie
Mjr69 Posted March 27, 2007 Posted March 27, 2007 There is a full DVDScreener 5.1 using the BR codec on the torrents at the moment - I am guessing it is that one. The colour palette is very unusual - love it or hate it. Certainly Ultraviolent!
mchuelio Posted March 27, 2007 Author Posted March 27, 2007 Sorry guys, In the cinema, pre screener! Big screen, DTS sound! Cool flix! Keep trucking Mc

Yeh, I've got access to this one, been tossing up whether to watch it at home or at the cinema... more likely to focus on the movie at the cinema, more likely to be critical on the PQ/SQ at home, especially that it's not HD.
Ted1503559509 Posted March 27, 2007 Posted March 27, 2007 its certainly an extraordinary film by Sin City guy Frank Miller. Astonishing in fact.
AndrewW Posted March 27, 2007 Posted March 27, 2007 I've purposely held off from acquiring this via "other means". I want to see this at the theater, it looks freaking awesome. Andrew.
Chesty Posted March 27, 2007 Posted March 27, 2007 I've purposely held off from acquiring this via "other means".I want to see this at the theater, it looks freaking awesome. Andrew. I agree. Certainly cinema for me. Dont want to "spoil" the experience.
Hydrology Posted March 27, 2007 Posted March 27, 2007 I agree. Certainly cinema for me. Dont want to "spoil" the experience. The "cinema experience" sucks nowadays. Ill be watching this at home in a real cinema on HD-DVD in a few months.
davep Posted March 27, 2007 Posted March 27, 2007 seen a preview or two... looks kinda homoerotic - dudes wearing capes and undies (body armour anyone?).. ill still watch it though :dodgy:
Cody Posted March 27, 2007 Posted March 27, 2007 The "cinema experience" sucks nowadays. Ill be watching this at home in a real cinema on HD-DVD in a few months. agreed, over the cinemas. keen to see it but i'll wait until its out on BR or HD
Gutty Posted March 27, 2007 Posted March 27, 2007 Hmmm, 2 unused IMAX tickets been floundering in my wallet since christmas, 300 playing at IMAX early April, haven't actually been "out" to see a movie in years..... *hollars*..."darling, how'd you like to use those IMAX tickets next friday ?"
spoco2 Posted March 28, 2007 Posted March 28, 2007 its certainly an extraordinary film by Sin City guy Frank Miller. Astonishing in fact. The films aren't by Frank Miller, he created the graphic novels. The films were created by two different directors.
Wilco1503560275 Posted March 28, 2007 Posted March 28, 2007 The "cinema experience" sucks nowadays. Ill be watching this at home in a real cinema on HD-DVD in a few months. they pretti much suck. but u know what the new klispch marketing campaign is? they decided to go all out and setup fliers in boxmovers that stress: "most cinemas in australia use klispch speakers" "a tv is only part of a theater" LOL and here we are saying cinemas suck. travesty for the klispch entry level products hey?
nonny Posted March 28, 2007 Posted March 28, 2007 Please dont spoil it as Ive been waiting for it to release in Australia since late last year... glad you enjoyed it. For anyone that cares its coming out in IMAX next month as well!
gtr73 Posted March 28, 2007 Posted March 28, 2007 Here's an interesting review on it: 300 review Doesn't sound like your average movie - "looks, feels and even plays like a video game."
Cooksta59 Posted March 28, 2007 Posted March 28, 2007 The "cinema experience" sucks nowadays. Ill be watching this at home in a real cinema on HD-DVD in a few months. Look at the whole package though, dinner out, big screen, good movie and the clincher.... a night out without the kids. unless they invent a 1080p projector that vaporises the kids ...I'm going out.
Doug1503559538 Posted March 28, 2007 Posted March 28, 2007 Yeah , much prefer the cinema experience. your reasons are similar to mine.
Gino Posted March 28, 2007 Posted March 28, 2007 Look at the whole package though, dinner out, big screen, good movie and the clincher.... a night out without the kids. unless they invent a 1080p projector that vaporises the kids ...I'm going out. or you could take a holiday to cairns, dinner, my ht, good movie, and still without the kids
Typhoon Posted March 28, 2007 Posted March 28, 2007 Here's a few more reviews to keep you all entertained. My husband (he's Greek but I'm not) goes nuts every time an ad for it comes on. He's convinced he's from Spartan lineage Rotten Tomatoes - 300
AndrewW Posted March 28, 2007 Posted March 28, 2007 or you could take a holiday to cairns, dinner, my ht, good movie, and still without the kids I'd be there in a flash, if this was available on HD DVD Andrew.
nonny Posted March 29, 2007 Posted March 29, 2007 Well its coming to HD-DVD and it will be bought... but until then, join the queue.
aztec Posted March 29, 2007 Posted March 29, 2007 After seeing the ads for it I just don't get the attraction. If the ads are the best bits then i'll be giving it a miss.
