Cmon Folks this is a very good deal and NB looks after his equipment.

The best deal you could hope to get on one of these is from the USA is around $950AUD landed and you wont be able to play Australian Region DVD's or BluRay discs! The Aussie version NB is selling will at least do Multi-Region DVD with a Handset Hack (US version FW doesn't have this option).

Although for 750, I would rather put in the extra $229 and get a PS3, or even cheaper on ebay.

Its really a reflection of new technology. As an early adoptor you are going to endure some pain for 2nd hand gear. As these players role out it puts pressure on 1st gen players and the like.

I think most people thought that $1500 for a Sammy BR player was way over priced to start with.

Good luck though.

I guess it's down to $699 then!!! Thank god my insurance company paid for this! This is the final price drop, it's just not worth selling for anything less  $1000 off isn't too bad i'm thinking :D

It might help if you explain why you're getting rid of the player so soon after you bought it. This player is not exactly considered top of the line, even with the limited BD players out there and people may come to the conclusion that you're upgrading to something better.

Why does he need to do that? He already explained unit functions perfectly and has the newest FW update. And even if the sale is due to upgrading to something "better". that something "better" will cost a lot more than the $699 asking price.

Selling a 3 month old DVD player rings alarm bells all over the place for me. And something 'better' does not cost a lot more than $700.

There is no need to downgrade a sale like this, if you think its to expensive then PM the seller and say why. Should a seller ask opinions of what an item may sell for. well that's a different story.

Why is it that every time somebody wants to sell something all the pessimists get on and ruin the thread. If you’re not interested in the unit then don’t try and sabotage the sale.

No worries Julian, stick to your belief. Youre new here, and Nightbreed's reputation preceeds him. However if you keep highjacking these threads youll lose friends before you even make them on this forum.

Nightbreed, perhaps you should get the mods to close this thread and open "another" one, asking only interested parties to comment?

It appears to be only on DTV Forum where any expensive piece of 2nd hand equipment that is up for sale is followed by the "expert" opinion that this is a great buy and far too cheap.

If the items were great buys then they would be sold.

Very strange behaviour.

HHHHmmmmm, $1599 retail, less than 3 months old, selling for $699. How is this classed as expensive? Are you basing this on any prejudice you may have toward the brand name? Or is it the format? For someone that seems to complain about the DTVForum, you sure seem to spend plenty of time on here.

As metioned before I look forward to the day when you actually contribute something to this forum, but I wont get my hopes up.

My comments were there for folk that may not know NightBreed's reputation, I've personally met him (and have seen his player in operation) and would happily buy from him with no hesitation! There are plenty of folk out there buying the Sammy BD player for full retail so whats wrong with a 3 month old bargin at 1/2 price?

I'm very surprised that some people here think there is something underhanded going on. Regardless of what else you can buy out there this is still a good deal! It's $300 less than ANY Blu-Ray player out there and $1000 cheaper than ANY standalone player out there. Not everyone out there wants a console as a dedicated player, so PS3 isn't always the answer. I really don't think i need to explain to anyone why i'm selling this, that's my business. The unit is in PERFECT working order with all accessories & warranty. What more do you need to know? If you have any questions PM me.

As many others have said, If you aren't interested or don't have anything positive to say then.....DON'T.

Flame away. Its the internet!

I have sold many items on the internet for what was too high a price and there are always "Experts" who will draw your opinion to technology or price. Thats capitalism.

I made a statement to draw peoples attention to what I had read recently about prices falling considerably - its not designed to hurt the seller, but rather inform the potential buyer to do their research before they jump because the player they saw at HN was $999 yesterday isnt representative of the market price. And if the seller is preying on the innocent then the innocent should be protected. I have seen Marks threads on here for ages so I assume that is not the case, but nevertheless, I would hate to be the person buying this and then finding out next gen technology released in a month or two costs half as much - often this is the motivation of sellers selling "near new" items - not that this was the case here as I say.
