Its been placed in several threads but I thought I'd just highlight it here :blink:

*******************************

First of all we would like to thank you all for your feedback. Our engineers have been working around the clock to get this first release finalized; we just have a couple more tweaks before we make it available. We are aiming to release this firmware tomorrow (27th) by 3pm.

For now I can confirm that at minimum the following things have been addressed:

* Ice TV Integration

* Dolby Output Switching

* Prime HD / 7 HD Display bug

* Timeshift bar Auto Disappears

* Record Timer problems

*******************************

I'd imagine further improvements should occur in the months ahead.

Regards

So who is going to be brave enough to try it? :blink:

Vasantha.

Just tried to the upgrade. No luck. I get the message "Could not find USB media.....Update Fail, try again. I have tried it on a usb 1 stick and a usb 2 stick. Anyone had any luck with it? I assume that the file had to be extracted and the correct file is the 0.16.28.upd 7,130kb upd file. This extraction step has been ommitted from the instructions. Hopefully, I have done something stupid and someone else can share their success! I have posted this on the topfield forum

Try it without extraction (i.e. as zip file),

Dave.

Have tried it extracted and zipped. Still get the message Could not find USB media.....Update Fail, try again. It is a FAT formatted 128mb usb2.0 topfield usb stick. Any one have any ideas? For some reason it aint working for me.

Yes sorry, silly suggestion. Just that I seem to remember a router I once had needing the zip file rather than the extracted file. If it says it can't find the USB media, it must be the USB port not recognising the stick. I'd contact Topfield or go back to your supplier to swap it for another.

I used a blank (empty) USB stick, I loaded the un-ziped file and it took 2 go's for it to see it and download it. Now it works great except the scrolling screen is BACK!!...???

Dave,

Finally managed to do the firmware upgrade.

I reformatted (FAT) my usb stick.

Copied the update file to it

Extracted it on the usb stick

Deleted the original folder and the how to ugrade file.

This left me with only one file on the usb stick (the unzipped file)

Powered up the toppy.

Inserted the usb stick.

Followed the installation process.

It worked first time. It must not have liked having other files on the usb stick.

I did a factory reset and rescanned all channels.

Works fine. Prime HD is showing 576P while Sydney 70HD shows 1080I

I agree the scrolling is annoying. It would be better to have the time displayed instead. I like the 3 levels of brightness though.

Check out the Topfield forum - some guy has worked out how to stop the scrolling by renaming the channels
Or more specifically here.

Well done Aeloper
