scotia
http://www.itwire.com.au/content/view/10733/532/ Does that mean Blu-Ray will win the war?
Mining Man
Blu-Ray wins the war --> XBox adopts BD. XBox adopts BD --> Blu-Ray wins the war. I thought the article was discussing the first scenario, your thread title infers the second. You sure you haven't got the egg and chicken around the wrong way? OakenShield1
Agree with MM. It's only going to happen if BR win the war. They would be stupid if they didn't leave that option open. The same would probably be said for Sony if BR loses.
Gino
But Microsoft's PR people, were quick to set the record straight and sent this to spong.com: http://news.spong.com/article/12121 The article implies that Neil is suggesting that Microsoft is going to support Blu-Ray. To confirm, this quote has been taken out of context and is not what Neil was implying. Microsoft offers, and fully supports, the HD-DVD format and offers consumers the choice of getting their HD movie content either via the optional HD-DVD player or via Xbox Live Video Marketplace (US only). momaw
And that's the end of that Quote:Originally Posted by crashoveridema0 Is microsoft going to release a blu-ray add-on for xbox 360? if so this would really not make me happy. Cause I am a full supporter of hd dvd. Nope. We don't have anyone thinking, dreaming, designing or anything remotely related to blu-ray on Xbox. That doesn't stop people from thinking, dreaming, etc. about us doing it. But that doesn't make it reality . __________________ Amir Microsoft (HD DVD insider) VC-1 video codec insider in BD/HD DVD Ask me questions about HD DVD here source
Hydrology
The inital itwire story is reacting to something that was taken "out of context" in January of this year. It seems its taken 5 months of momentum to reach its media end. If the inferior format really believes its "winning", their life may well and truly be short-lived. Hussla
In theory the 360 HD-DVD MIGHT and COULD possibly be made to be compatible with the PS3, i'd imagine the PS3's hardware can support it, its jsut a matter of software been written for the Ps3.. very interesting my young apprentice...
