Anton-P. Posted March 25, 2007 Posted March 25, 2007 HN advertises box of fifty 16X Verbatim DVD-R blanks for $20. Took one to the checkout, it rang up $42. The checkout guy poured over the box and the ad for some time (don't know if that was his acting) before "discovering" that ... Oh this box here is printable DVDs while photo in the ad doesn't show printable. Well I don't care if it's printable or not, I'm happy with any box of 16X Verbatim. Sorry we don't have 'em in stock!
AndrewW Posted March 25, 2007 Posted March 25, 2007 sucks, but its legit. You can't expect them to sell you something at the advertised price that isn't actually the advertised item. printable DVD-Rs usually cost more than non-printable ones. Andrew.

There's 2 isues 1. Bait and switch which is an unaccepted practise by OFT (Office of fair Trading). 2. Also if it's advertised then they MUSt have sufficient stock to sell into a promo for a while (even for a day) then if they run out of stock you're out of luck. If it's whithin the first day then you can damnd a rain check or a source from another store. I work in retail and we try to ensure we either have it or offer an equivalent or better product for the same price or publish an apology stating our supplier let us down and we cant offer it. But for goodwill we do offer an alternative of sorts when we can. Given the add they should have offered something but it depends on the timing too.
