anthonysimilion Posted March 24, 2007 Posted March 24, 2007 Last Friday, TEN showed the season two final of Veronica Mars. Next week (30th March) they will be showing the first episode of season three. Friday 30th March 2007 TEN HD - Veronica Mars (Welcome Wagon)
remi Posted March 24, 2007 Posted March 24, 2007 Wow, they're only about 15 episodes behind now. They'll catch it up if they show it until October.
big_marcelo Posted March 24, 2007 Posted March 24, 2007 Good stuff.... they just need to start showing it in HD now .....
anthonysimilion Posted March 25, 2007 Author Posted March 25, 2007 It is going to be HD, according to TEN.
-Bishop- Posted March 25, 2007 Posted March 25, 2007 The third season is basically over already in the US, thanks to a weak commitment from the networks, so the season story arc only ran 15 episodes, actually less because it was two arcs in that period, but I forget where the first ended. Expect Ten to pull the show after each mystery, but on the bright side it will be a lot easier to follow compared to season two, but I kind of miss a season long story arc...
eyestrain Posted March 25, 2007 Posted March 25, 2007 Expect Ten to pull the show after each mystery, but on the bright side it will be a lot easier to follow compared to season two, but I kind of miss a season long story arc... 'Discovering' this excellent show some months ago, it was only last Friday nights episode that put the story-line into place for me, but despite this, I still enjoyed the humor and guest stars as it went to air. Looking forward to the 'new' season from the 'start' this time.
DrP Posted March 25, 2007 Posted March 25, 2007 The third season is basically over already in the US, thanks to a weak commitment from the networks, so the season story arc only ran 15 episodes, actually less because it was two arcs in that period, but I forget where the first ended. Potential spoiler: The USA networks aren't sure what to do with Nancy Drew Investi Veronica Mars. There's a possibility that the series will leap ahead four years and Veronica will be working for the FBI.
-Bishop- Posted March 26, 2007 Posted March 26, 2007 Yeah, I read about that... From what is being said, the network are not happy with current ratings, even though it's doing ok and holding stable. So now there is talk of totally revamping the series, for some reason they have an issue with collage Veronica, the network thinks it's a boring concept, so want to skip ahead in time, to a FBI Veronica, of maybe even PI Veronica. Don't think Rob Thomas will let that happen, he wanted to properly make that transition from school to collage, and make it work, then maybe later progress to something else, it could all end in a **** fight and as a result there may be no season 4, or worse yet a really awful season 4...
anthonysimilion Posted March 26, 2007 Author Posted March 26, 2007 From what I've read online, The CW isn't doing that well - all they have is Supernatural, Gilmore Girls (apparently not doing too well these days), Everybody Hates Chris and Veronica Mars. Why on earth would they want to cancel one of their 'top' shows? They're never going to match the big networks. If they skip ahead to Veronica in the FBI, then I assume there will be an all new cast, except for Veronica? :S
pgdownload Posted March 26, 2007 Posted March 26, 2007 I actually just wanted to join in the conversation. Presumably 98% of readers won't dare read this and presume that I have some great insightful spoiler to share This is new actually. For those wondering you can use a ['spoiler'] option, same way as a ['quote'] one and you get the effect above. neat Regards Peter Gillespie Sorry to those who didn't know about the 'smiley' ending - apparently you can't black those out.
-Bishop- Posted March 26, 2007 Posted March 26, 2007 I have a really tiny penis... Biggest spoiler of the decade, no one need ever read it...
Milorad Posted March 26, 2007 Posted March 26, 2007 Biggest spoiler of the decade, no one need ever read it... Or maybe 'smallest' spoiler!
Neon Kitten Posted March 26, 2007 Posted March 26, 2007 Don't think Rob Thomas will let that happen, he wanted to properly make that transition from school to collage, and make it work, then maybe later progress to something else, it could all end in a **** fight and as a result there may be no season 4, or worse yet a really awful season 4... From what I read, the flashing-foward-a-few-years idea WAS Rob Thomas's.
Neon Kitten Posted March 26, 2007 Posted March 26, 2007 From what I've read online, The CW isn't doing that well - all they have is Supernatural, Gilmore Girls (apparently not doing too well these days), Everybody Hates Chris and Veronica Mars. And Smallville. (Whatever happened to the multiple-consecutive-post-combining feature of this board, by the way?) Oh, and these new "spoiler" tags are quite handy. For example, I now know who REALLY was behind the assassination of JFK. Yes, the truth can finally be revealed. JFK was murdered by Buffy Summers who was acting under instruction from Richard Dodds in a covert plot formulated by agents of the ABC .
-Bishop- Posted March 26, 2007 Posted March 26, 2007 From what I read, the flashing-foward-a-few-years idea WAS Rob Thomas's. Hmm, maybe he would rather bow to network pressure than see the series cancelled, I suppose at least if it's one of his ideas, it's less likely to suck?
Milorad Posted March 26, 2007 Posted March 26, 2007 I just hope they wrap up everything neatly at the last season before the flash forward... so if it does indeed blow chunks, then you can just stop buying the DVDs before the time warp. IMO a big gap like that would make it a totally different show, and increase the chance of it losing whatever fanbase it already has.
anthonysimilion Posted March 26, 2007 Author Posted March 26, 2007 I just hope they wrap up everything neatly at the last season before the flash forward... Or before it ends completely!
Milorad Posted March 26, 2007 Posted March 26, 2007 Or before it ends completely! yes indeed! I love the show, it would be nice to have a real ending for it. All cancelled shows should be allowed at least a feature-length final episode when they're axed... if they're not going to axe them in enough time to wind it up in the season.

Or maybe a feature length movie al la Firefly! Kent
cwhast Posted April 20, 2007 Posted April 20, 2007 Just looking on yourTV guide and it says tonight's episode of VM is the season finale? Is this true or are Ten doing it to us again?
big_marcelo Posted April 20, 2007 Posted April 20, 2007 Just looking on yourTV guide and it says tonight's episode of VM is the season finale? Is this true or are Ten doing it to us again? its not the series season finale .... it could be 10's season finale .....
Neon Kitten Posted April 20, 2007 Posted April 20, 2007 its not the series season finale .... it could be 10's season finale ..... Indeed it is - pulled for Big Brother. Channel BT never looked so good
big_marcelo Posted April 20, 2007 Posted April 20, 2007 Indeed it is - pulled for Big Brother.Channel BT never looked so good unfringinbilievable.... pulled for big brother! another waste of space / timeslot .... BT it is....
boric Posted April 20, 2007 Posted April 20, 2007 unfringinbilievable.... pulled for big brother!another waste of space / timeslot .... BT it is.... It's worse than that. Pulled for a combination of Big Brother, Pussy Cat Dolls, and more Big Brother. The lowest common denominator plumbs new depths. At some stage the lowest common denominator must surely become so low that it actually becomes a niche audience and gets pushed to the 4AM timeslot? Please?
