Legeslative Assembly (Lower Hose) Candidates by electorate Legislative Council (Senate) Candidates Make sure you have an informed choice on who you are voting for. Make your voice heard, don't simply Vote [1] for the person on the top of the ballot card. This is known as a "Donkey Vote"

mitch01 Posted March 23, 2007 Posted March 23, 2007 *bump* this is important... remember if you dont want to vote, dont give the workers a hard time.. just scribble on the form to make it informal and hand it in.
Mcrackn Posted March 23, 2007 Posted March 23, 2007 good point mitch01, ive had people come in and make a scene when ive been doing it. quite funny that they don't understand how it works at all. one guy got his name crossed off and tried to walk off without taking a ballot paper yelling on about how he had his name crossed off it was too late for us to do anything.... there are ways to fix errors in the book lol
ibanez5 Posted March 23, 2007 Author Posted March 23, 2007 *bump* this is important... remember if you dont want to vote, dont give the workers a hard time.. just scribble on the form to make it informal and hand it in. And if you don't vote, don't whinge about about the trains, hospitals etc.
Mcrackn Posted March 23, 2007 Posted March 23, 2007 and if you dont vote, its like a default vote for the winner
mitch01 Posted March 23, 2007 Posted March 23, 2007 The reason I say what I do ... is because there are a number of people we get who curse, swear, or just be generally rude at us trying to do our job. Then there are some which crack the s**ts, tear it into pieces and throw it away, and the clowns that try and leave the polling booth with the forms. (its illegal). Every vote after the doors close must be accounted for, including the ones torn in a million pieces, or tossed in the bin on top of rotten fruit or something. So thats why I said if you dont want to vote, scribble on it so its informal, or simply put it in blank.
Chui2 Posted March 24, 2007 Posted March 24, 2007 Gotta love 300+ candidates for the upper house. Takes a long time to number them all. What happened to telling how many candidates there are on the paper. That way I used to be able to fill in say 1 to 50, and then who I really dislike, say 290 to 330, and then meet up in the middle

Chui2 Posted March 24, 2007 Posted March 24, 2007 Hey chatswood63, I voted postal a few days ago due to work commitments, and you should have seen me trying to get it into the envelope provided. You only had to humber 1-15 on the upper house paper below the line. Yes I know, but where's the fun in that.
Nevyn72 Posted March 24, 2007 Posted March 24, 2007 Sometimes I wish I could say what I really feel at these elections rather than just putting down a number for the 'package' that is least offesnsive.....
Guest EZYHD Posted March 24, 2007 Posted March 24, 2007 I have this feeling that the electorate is not happy with either of the major parties in the NSW elections and it could well end up with the Greens and Independents having the casting vote.

mello yello Posted March 24, 2007 Posted March 24, 2007 Nationals leader Andrew Stoner has conceded defeat for the Coalition in the New South Wales election. Looks like its desalinated
Austen Posted March 24, 2007 Posted March 24, 2007 Nationals leader Andrew Stoner has conceded defeat for the Coalition in the New South Wales election. Looks like its desalinated What happened up there in the end about the DeSal plant ? A few days ago I heard a report on News-Radio where both parties were accusing each other of flip-flopping over the DeSal plant, in the end I wasn't quite sure whether either / neither / both parties supported it ? IIRC there is one in Perth that is solar powered ??? Santa ???? Austen.

Santa ???? Austen. The "they can stick it up their butts sideways" Desalination Plant? Yes; the Liberals started making noises about including it in their Water "consternation" plans. I guess it boils down to how far Frank (not the weiner, more the speaks his mind - usually about how anyone else can get stuffed because he's the only person great enough to control everything) 'pipsqueek' Sartor is prepared to shove his overblown egotistical fascist personality down the throats of voters who may have returned the Iemma government, but don't want the same attitude of regal disdain from supposed 'Socialists'. I'd feel fairly confident of the Desalination plant being scuttled internally, by those who would be forced to work upon it against their better judgement, as well as those who know exactly what Frank Sartor is like. To say he's the sort of scum that seeks out the biggest and juiciest host to latch onto, would be paying a dis-service to leeches, which only act as they do out of the survival instinct. Sartor does it to massage his unwarranted sense of self importance. From my personal experience of the man, I'd be surprised that he would see the need to pull his head in, so I'm expecting the whole Kurnell proposal to be pushed with the sort of gusto that only someone of Frank Sartor's gall could muster in the face of massive opposition.
Skid_MacMarx Posted March 25, 2007 Posted March 25, 2007 Ironically, NSW Opposition Leader Peter Debnam copped the full force of the anti-Howard vote by supporting WorkChoices during the campaign. http://www.smh.com.au/news/state-election-...4597958613.html Do you really think "Frank Spencer" Debnam would have won? ....They are a pathetic weak opposition.. not the type of team the public want to run the state....
Steve C Posted March 25, 2007 Posted March 25, 2007 [/b]http://www.smh.com.au/news/state-election-...4597958613.html Do you really think "Frank Spencer" Debnam would have won? ....They are a pathetic weak opposition.. not the type of team the public want to run the state.... I reckon that the result could - and I stress could, have been different if we had already had a Federal Election, and a Rudd led Labor Government held power Federally. The Liberal party is going to have to come to grips with what the Labor party has finally had to accept; namely, that most Australian's are becoming sick and tired of a society led by 'Chest beaters' that end up being acquescing wimps when they need to step up to the plate. All puff and no substance. I hope Kevin Rudd is the person of integrity that the Labor movement needed to put it back on it's socially motivated track. Historically Australians have installed State Governments of different political persuasions to that of the current Federal cabinet. It's also rare for both Houses of Australian Parliaments to be controlled by a single political persuasion. If a Rudd led Government fails to exhibit the the qualities expected of it if elected, the likelihood of the States remaining Labor is going to diminsh rapidly... The Liberal party on the other hand, needs someone with the capacity to convince all those small to medium size businesses who have been abandoned by the current Federally driven Liberal ethos of supporting only the 'upper end of Town', that there is a determination for Government rather than 'self regulating' business to have control of our nation's fate.

He is pathetic He didnt even have the backbone to congratulate Morris Iemma for his win . Bye bye Peter Dumbnam ...from one dumbarse to another.... PM denies IR laws hurt NSW LiberalsPrime Minister John Howard has rejected Labor assertions that the result of yesterday's New South Wales election was a resounding vote against federal industrial relations (IR) laws Thanks Johnny keep toeing that line..keep supporting those IR laws NSW Premier Morris Iemma agrees that Labor's victory in the state is a resounding vote against the laws. "[Federal Workplace Relations Minister Joe] Hockey, as well as Mr Howard, will ignore that message at their peril," he said. But Mr Hockey has told Channel 10 that NSW voters were focused on state issues, like public transport, roads and health. If NSW voters were focused on public transport roads and health then Labor would have lost in a landslide.. Theyre not listening are they
