Guest r.byatt Posted March 22, 2007 Posted March 22, 2007 Hi, I am looking at re-cabling my system in Belden 1505a. The thing is I can't justify the $9.00 each for the Canare RCA connectors because of the high number required. I was wondering if anyone has used standard compression RCA connectors on this cable? Regards Robert

RodN Posted March 22, 2007 Posted March 22, 2007 I use Belden 1694A and std f conectors with F to rca adaptor. I have used 1984 with RCA, BNC and FType compression fittings and haven't had a problem, takes a few to get a really professional result though.

Regards Robert The Belden 1505a is an RG59 cable. Hills Antenna Division sells compression RCA/BNC/F Type connectors from ICM for this cable & for the Belden 1694a (RG6 cable). There RCA's are half the price of the Canare RCA's.
RodN Posted March 22, 2007 Posted March 22, 2007 They're also available at Jaycar for $4 in four different colours.
Guest r.byatt Posted March 23, 2007 Posted March 23, 2007 Thanks for your replies I have organised a sample of the 1505a and intend to test some standard type RG59 compression connectors. I will post what I find out Regards Robert
Guest r.byatt Posted March 25, 2007 Posted March 25, 2007 I use the same ones as these Hi mrplou, Those exact ones or the RG59 equivalent? (My impression was that 1505a is a RG59 equivalent cable) Regards Robert
