Aloysius Posted March 21, 2007 Posted March 21, 2007 http://www.theaustralian.news.com.au/story...22-2702,00.html I've said before that this guy is a leader in his field - more confirmation in the link above. Congratulations too to Jenny Macklin for taking on board his leadership.

Congratulations too to Jenny Macklin for taking on board his leadership. And it's intersting to note that not one of you "Johnny Haters" has pointed out the ALP's policy flip noted in the article - I bet you would if it had been "Johnny" changing a policy !
Skid_MacMarx Posted March 22, 2007 Posted March 22, 2007 But yesterday, after meeting Labor indigenous affairs spokeswoman Jenny Macklin, he said Labor was showing "real compassion, an element often missing in the debate". "I tend to be a bit guilty of that myself because I'm very hard on the problems," he said. "And I give my people a sense that I'm blaming them or not regarding the good things that are taking place and so on." http://www.theaustralian.news.com.au/story...22-2702,00.html As I have said before, I've got a lot time for Pearson but I have found that his "focus" has predominantly on the individual and at times has ignored wider macroeconomic problems (inherent structural equity flaws in the capitalist system.. ie under/un- employment, alcohol and drug abuse, access to appropriate vocational training)... The CDP was suppose to be a "pathway" to "paid" employment but tthe appropriate resources to "make" this scheme "work" have been lacking under this administration. I agree with Pearson that it is not just local communities and government (of all levels) that need to address this whole "participation" issue but also "partnerships" with the business community are required.

Yes - he's fair dinkum!
Autocrat Posted March 22, 2007 Posted March 22, 2007 And it's intersting to note that not one of you "Johnny Haters" has pointed out the ALP's policy flip noted in the article - I bet you would if it had been "Johnny" changing a policy ! There is some integrity where you are willing to change your mind when facts are against your position - Dumb Johnny* still thinks the Vietnam War was pretty cool because that's what he thought at the time. Not that he had to go or anything. *Failed maths, took 6 years to finish a 4yr law degree, got sacked after 6 months in his first job. Moron.

Auto crat you have remarkable knowledge and opinion about Mr Howard - do you know him well? You were around in the Vietnam war? You just blowing gas again? Did you know that Albert Einstein failed maths at school - is he a moron in your mind? Howard is like Einstein? Try not to let your emotions run away with you Auto crat
Autocrat Posted March 22, 2007 Posted March 22, 2007 Did you know that Albert Einstein failed maths at school - is he a moron in your mind?Howard is like Einstein? No, he didn't. You need to get your information from reputable sources. In all ways possible Howard is not like Einstein. Neither are you. To save me coming back and refuting the pathetic cries of "Look! this link says Einstein failed maths just like I said", read this.

You are quite right of course about my not being Einstein, I knew that too - clearly you are a thinker of some proportion
Autocrat Posted March 23, 2007 Posted March 23, 2007 You want to know why I get aggressive? Because you say something that is demonstrably untrue, I point it out and point you to the information that corrects your erroneous POV, and all you come back with is, and I quote, Nya nya nya nya nya.I'd suggest that you are the archetypical bigot, but I'm positive you'd misunderstand.

Dear Auto Crat: Your inclusion of a fabricated quote that I have never made is truly a step into the gutter - If you are unable to be honest OK - thats something for you to wrestle with - nonetheless it calls into question many of your previous assertions On the other hand your inability to play it straight is unacceptable to me - with this in mind I no longer have any interest in dignifying your comments, truthful or otherwise with a response. Suggest away Auto crat - I don't need to suggest at all - you are not being archetypically honest here - and I definitley misunderstand your need to sink to these depths. Ah - honesty, an increasingly rare resource apparently:rolleyes:
Aloysius Posted March 24, 2007 Author Posted March 24, 2007 http://www.abc.net.au/news/newsitems/200703/s1880156.htm 'The federal Indigenous Affairs Minister, Mal Brough, has cautiously welcomed Labor's policy shift on Aboriginal welfare, but says there are some disturbing aspects to the plan." Just more data to reflect on.
