so it looks like Sony bowed to public pressure and released the list early here

A good summary of the compatibility is here

Looks like a pretty poor effort, with only 45% of PS2 games working with "no known issues"

We can only assume unlisted games like Metal Gear Solid 2, Final Fantasy VII, Resident Evil 2 and all the Ratchet and Clank games will not work at all come launch day

Seemed like an OK start. Lets just hope the follow-up isn't as awful as what I've heard about Microsoft's.
